URGENT: Is Etsy working on changes to accurately record Country of Origin on Etsy Labels?

For anyone outside the US using Etsy labels, note with new tariffs against China each item in a shipment must have Country of Origin recorded as well as HS code. Currently Etsy labels default Country of Origin to our home country for all items and we have no way to update this. 

This subjects Etsy sellers to fines, penalties and shipping delays. 

Kindly let us know if Etsy is working on this and how quickly we can expect a solution? Thank you!

Chit Chats is integrated now so is just populating from imported Etsy data. Now that won't be the case.

Wondering how I would label my products then because the molds I create here in Canada, the compound is from the USA. Or the polymer clay I create handmade goods from, some is from USA and some is from Germany, but sometimes I mix the compounds/base products. Would I then enter Canada as the originating country because I create the things I sell? This is confusing.

@Beadcomber Since it is a handcrafted item, made in Canada, you put "Canada" as the country of origin.

IMO You have "transformed" the materials, so the origins of the materials is irrelevant. 

If you were selling the jars of unused polymer clay, the origin would be USA.

Chit Chats' blog has a copy of a self-certification form letter you can use to attest to the nature of your handmade goods and how they are assembled. You can attach this to the outside of your package.
