Hi
As everyone knows if you sign if from a desktop pc its a browser and not an app, buy when trying to sign up for the two advertised Etsy workshops it claims I am signed into an app and that I must agree to giving permission to a third party app to access my shop details. It does not instil confidence for me in doing so. Is this a bug or poorly worded comms?
Hello there folks,
Thank you for sharing a bit about your experience trying to RSVP for a Seller Event. The message you received (the Bevy OAuth notification) is meant to provide additional transparency and security to sellers signing into the space, as the events are hosted on the Bevy platform. I’m sorry it did not instil confidence, I’ll take that back to my team.
In the meantime, you might try signing in and out of your account on both desktop and mobile before RSVPing. I hope that helps!
@SVGRox Giving you a Bump. To be honest, that would not instill confidence in me either. Too much going on in the way of hacking attempts and Hacked Shops. With Sellers working overtime to warn others of ongoing scams. Quite honestly, Sellers are doing Etsy's job, trying to keep each other safe.
Agreed!!! I found giving permission to the third party app so off-putting that I denied access. And yes, I also reached the page via my laptop browser. Guess I'll just skip the workshops . . .
