Has anyone received any info on why our buyers are receiving the Etsy message "Sorry, this item is unavailable in your region." ? I contacted support but the assumption was it was a problem on my buyers end. I received the same error code myself when pulling up the listings which I screen shotted. I checked my region settings and they are correct. Two of the customers who contacted me are past buyers and both live in my country. And one is within 50 miles of my studio. I'm positive this issue is on Etsy's end.
Many of my listings have just become unavailable to areas I sell to now. Thankfully my customers have reached out otherwise I wouldn't have known traffic is being driven away from my Etsy shop. I'm hoping someone has received information or help with this?
@ArtDollsbyJD I prefer desktop too. I never use the app for shopping. I did check the app today. This problem is occurring there now too.
I spoke with Etsy chat. At that time they didn't seem to believe this problem was on their end.
I spoke with chat this morning. They said that it was an issue that Etsy IT is aware of and are trying to resolve.
I pointed out that porn and images with actual children are not being blocked, but images on dress forms or other innocuous items are. They responded with the standard "we are escalating this issue" statement.
One of my listing have this issue, nothing I can think a bot will pick up, my lit
sting is “ pair of white and blue Chinese vases”
@MarioTreasureChest I'm sorry to hear your shop is impacted. How strange that Chinese Vases are targeted. It's listings like yours which gives me hope that this might be seen as a problem which needs fixing by Etsy. Hopefully this issue will be addressed in the coming week.
@CostumeCoutureNaomi That's really good to hear. Thank you for sharing. It sounds like enough of us complained to bring attention to this problem. I'm thankful for my fellow Etsy sellers. Hopefully Etsy can fix it.
With chat being off Saturday night, I am sure they got slammed with seller outreach this morning.
My dress form modeled listings are fine (even the bare chest ones) but my modeled shot ones are restricted. Although two of the modeled aren't and I can't figure out why, they aren't any more full coverage than the restricted listings. One restricted one does show cleavage but the other three only have bare arms. Etsy tells us modeled clothing sells better but then restricts those listings. All my models are adults and my clothing is only advertised to adults so the new rule for using child models should not apply. One of the restricted listings was on etsy's front page back when it was curated. So ridiculous.
It really is ridiculous. I'm glad they are working on it now.
I received a message of NOT AVAILABLE IN YOUR REGION on a nightgown pattern. Finally reached etsy chat and was told many "similar concerns" have been received and that my concern will be forwarded to another dept. I am supposed to receive an email by tomorrow. We shall see. I think they have let the bots take over while the etsy employees enjoy their yoga, etc.
The thing that doesn't make sense to me is the specific message showing up? This was programmed by a human. It sounds like a programmer made a mistake with the targeting. This would be understandable. But why would they opt to create a message attached to targeted listings stating they are not available in your area?
I hope this is addressed and fixed soon for those having trouble. And wish those overzealous bot would be half as energetic when it comes to blocking scammers and hackers.
@NancyQstudio @CostumeCoutureNaomi Nancy, Naomi, for you and others having this problem. Admin has recently addressed this problem in this Thread and others. So I hope it's being resolved for you.
