The past few days I've been noticing that when I go check my shop's dashboard to see how many views and visits I have that day, that throughout the day those numbers are actually going down. I might start with 4 in the morning and by the afternoon that same day it might say 2. How can that be if there were 4 visits in the morning? Is this happening to anyone else. I just want to get a real sense of the numbers and this is a really annoying new occurrence.

Most likely bots taking them down
Views are in real time. They are unfiltered and often contain bots and other fake views. Visits are not in real time. They are only updated a couple of times a day and at the time of this stats update they are filtered. When visits update and are displayed, views are filtered and redisplayed. At the time of a stats update views almost always go down. The only time that stats have a chance of being accurate are at the time of an update or the next morning.
And there is plenty of anecdotal evidence in this forum that at best of times the stats are inaccurate. If you have Google analytics attached to your account that is probably more reliable.
I just had this happen to me. Last night I had over 1000 views, this morning, it dropped 7 views. Ive asked the group i'm in on FB, waiting for a reply now. Have you had any explanation?
