When I am editing a new listing and I use the zoom in feature to "crop" the picture that I use for the thumbnail, the change doesn't get implemented. It lets me save it and all but it doesn't actually change it. I checked on the store itself and you can tell when you are in the general listing page to edit it that the thumbnail picture is untouched no matter how many times I save it.
Same. The view is different as well so they definitely made updates to the listing interface. Following!
Another useless 'update' lol..the view is now so small, I can hardly see it! Why oh why can't Etsy just leave things be??
I'm having the same issue. And yes they did update something because the thumbnail is now square in the listing form... finally! It seemed to work the other day but today the crops are sticking.
I'm also having this issue. My images are square (2000 x 2000), but I'm finding it is cutting off the top of my pictures even if I completely zoom out on the thumbnail.
I'm having issues with the thumbnail too. The zoom looks fine when I do it, but it looks unchanged on the listing preview.
So I post it and the listing looks too zoomed in, while my dashboard listing view looks off center.
All my photos are uploaded as squares.
It's a mess!
I am also having an issue with cropping a thumbnail. No matter what change I make it doesn't stick. Argh.
Once you publish it, usually if you go back and edit it it will stick. Sometimes it takes 2 goes but usually sticks on the first edit. That crop tool had been wonky for over a year after working fine for a few years. They did SOMETHING to it and it hasn't worked right since.
Best to try to get it right before you load it.
So much for the new listing form being a 'time saver' lol.
What other platform needs 2 (even 3) attempts, to get an edit to stick!! It's an absolute joke.
Agree but it was that way on the old lister too.
If it’s not working, get your photo as you want it before uploading so you don’t need to use the thumbnail crop. I’ve never used it as it’s not necessary.
