Just got a THIRD email from a different person or (BOT) from the etsy trust committee.
BTW my shop pipeworkpieces has been a verified star seller for over 5 years on Etsy so this is
mindboggling and the worst time of year for it to happen.

You ,****** and ****** keep telling me the same thing but no direction on how or what is different.

I have uploaded my correct business number that matches what is in Etsy 3 times already !

You are simply stalling now and my shop has been closed for 7 days now.

Thank you I needed that laugh. I can cry this is so sad.

My brother in law who teaches business at McGill college said we all need to start a class action suit against Etsy for them affecting all of our livelihoods.

Etsy really needs to be held accountable for their actions. We certainly are how we fight for our star status etc.

They finally re-opened my shop. I still don't know why it was closed to begin with. All the documentation I provided them with was information they already had. I still wonder if it was some kind of hack or attack. I noticed a significant influx of orders on the other platforms I sell on since this started. I'm guessing Etsy lost a LOT of money during this ordeal. Closing down so many seller's shops in the middle of the holiday rush doesn't seem like the smartest thing to do. Etsy's stock price is already down 80% from their all time high, I wonder what this little blunder is going to do. If I was the big wigs at Etsy, I'd be more concerned about getting sued from the shareholders.

I just pinned the post about hundreds of us vendors being put into forced vacation mode. I do not even think the public is aware of the situation and how vast it is. Feel free to chime in

Glad to hear your shop is back! Have you had a chance to check your monthly statements to see if you were charged for relisting your items? This happened to me, and I shared my experience in a separate post. I was charged for relisting all 1,021 items in my shop at once. I contacted Etsy and managed to get a refund. I’m curious if this issue is unique to me or common to others.

Etsy has to verify a lot of businesses for new regulations that have come in the past couple of years.  This is happening to many sellers in many countries.  Etsy does not have the best track record when they are required by many countries to enact new legislation such as adding tax numbers as UK now has to do.  And consider how huge this site is.  Unlike other venues that have divided up the world, Etsy has not.  It is a big task if you have ever been exposed to such national business. I was on the outskirts of such and it is not easy to deal with all the bells and whistles especially when everycountry wants things done a certain different way. 

And who knows how many really.  The forums is only a small representation and really does not reflect Etsy as a whole.

Oh and you can't be a star seller for 5 years as the program has not been around that long.  Just a little tecnicality.

Our vacation mode was lifted on Tuesday evening. They put us back on it just now. No e-mails at all, nothing!! What is going on?

Lewis, this is awful. I feel and share your pain. They are holding a significant amount of my money and I had a few thousand pounds forecasted this week.
I haven't received any communication in the last 3 days - nadda! There is nothing wrong with my long standing, star seller account either.
It is criminal. They should be ashamed of theirselves.

Are your customer service stats where they need to be? The reason I ask is because Etsy had sent me an email back in November stating that my customer service stats are not meeting their standards and failure to meet these standards can result in lowered search visibility and account status being impacted. My next evaluation date was Dec 1st. Since my shop is a collaborative process with the buyer, my processing/shipping times are often delayed which led to me getting a low shipping score. This was extremely frustrating for me since I had never had any issues with customers with shipping and processing since I started my shop. Anyway, I reached out to Etsy and they know that is a problem for shops like mine so there is an option to extend shipping and processing times for individual orders. But in the end, I lost a lot of business over this.

Great shop, great illustrations. I can see how these would be great and in demand items and also why they would require a high degree of collaboration.

I do a lot of custom work. For anything I can do well within Etsy's processing times, Etsy is fine.

But for anything that requires a lot of collaboration, back and forth with buyers including approvals of prototypes, long processing times due to high volume, Etsy is no longer the right venue. Etsy puts so much weight on on-time shipping that it simply isn't the right venue for highly collaborative and/or time intensive custom orders.

Sad, because generally I like doing business on Etsy. And I would have thought that it would be a great fit for complex custom orders. But Etsy seems to be more and more eBay/Amazon-like.

@GlassyFields This is exactly why I moved my custom work off of Etsy.  It's really too bad.  The site used to be perfect for these types of orders.  Now due to the longer time frames and pricing it's no longer an ideal site for these.

Exactly,

Iterations ... sometimes a custom request (even one that I assume will be straight forward) requires multiple iterations ... each with make, tweak, send photos to requestor, tweak some more, etc. Highly collaborative and also highly rewarding for both creator and buyer. But the processing time is unknown.

Seems like that kind of work is the epitome of unique handmade ... but doesn't fit on Etsy because of the unknowns.

Makes me wonder how much Etsy is losing, not just in terms of fees, but being able to be a site of highly specialized handmade artisan type work.

thank you I know I was working 7 days a week to maintain delivery and keep my star seller status.

Now I wonder if maintaining star seller status is even worth it.

But I do it for myself as it makes me feel good.
