BTW my shop pipeworkpieces has been a verified star seller for over 5 years on Etsy so this is
mindboggling and the worst time of year for it to happen.

Terrible! It makes no sense at all!
It could be due to "Inform Act", shops have to now be verified again.. and then annually if make over 5K, the problem is Etsy is not communicating why this is happening very well, or at all.
Someone on my IG post mentioned it could be related to the new GSPR law that came into effect Dec.14th .
I sold a little to the UK but now if this is the reason I have removed the option to order any of my products if you are not in the USA or Canada.
So sad as I love my UK customers!.
Also enabled returns in 14 day window which is a prerequisite to selling to EU
Buyer is responsible for return shipping costs and any loss in value if an item isn't returned in original condition.
@pipeworkpieces You need to set returns to 30 days for the UK and EU. Technically it is 14 days for the customer to request a return, then a further 14 days for them to actually do it. But there is no option for that, so we have to use 30 days to cover the legal minimum.
You also must have a GDPR compliant privacy policy for selling to the UK and EU - your current one is not compliant.
And you need to add your LUCID registration details, to comply with the German packaging laws. I believe the French one also requires something to be added to policies.
You also should add the relevant details of your EU representative for GPSR too.
my shop just got reactivated
@pipeworkpieces I'm so happy for you! Mine was put on vacation late Sunday night. Last night I was sent an email asking for documents - I sent them this morning. I'm honestly so stressed & so upset, I'm besides myself. My shop is impeccable, I'm doing everything right & by the letter. I'm so worried the bots are going to give me the runaround. I'm missing the last stretch of high season just when I was making record sales in my shop. Etsy is withholding almost 4K of my revenue.
I'm wondering if this widespread issue with vacation mode is targeting Canadian sellers in particular? I'm in the Montreal area...I'm getting the feeling that most of the sellers posting about this are also Canadian...?
I was also wondering if it could be related to the new EU law except then, why do we need to submit these documents which are totally unrelated...? And Lew, the UK is not part of the EU so I would think we're still ok to sell to them.
If you are launching any kind of movement towards Etsy in regards to this, count me in, I'm so hopping mad.
Be sure you check your monthly statements.
One seller who was put on Vacation Mode checked their monthly statements when they got back and discovered that they were charged listing fees for all of the products in their shop. All at once.
They contacted customer service via chat right away and were able to get a refund. The explanation that was given was that all the listings were deactivated when the shop was in vacation mode, and when it was restored, the listings were relisted automatically, which generated a huge bill.

@OurCraftyNestCo Most of the UK is not part of the EU. But Northern Ireland is. And the new laws affect sales to Northern Ireland.
At the moment, Etsy hasn't provided us with any way to separate Northern Ireland from the UK shipping option (as other marketplaces have done).
Wow! Finally! I'm happy for you! Have you had a chance to check your monthly statements to see if you were charged for relisting your items? This happened to me, and I shared my experience in a separate post. I was charged for relisting all 1,021 items in my shop at once. I contacted Etsy and managed to get a refund. I’m curious if this issue is unique to me or common to others.

@TinTeddy I didn't think of Northern Ireland! So does that mean that were forced to remove the UK entirely from our shipping profiles?
And I verified I was not charged re listing fees for all my items.

@OurCraftyNestCo Etsy have said they are looking into it, and will give us more info around the 31st of December.
But until then, there is no way to remove NI.
So anyone who wants to sell to the rest of the UK, has to deal with the necessaries for sale to the EU as well.
Which is particularly annoying for British sellers as we have to sell to our own country if we sell at all.
same thing happened to me. I was uploading a document to verify my bank account, but they could not verify it, even though all the information is right! Now I'm forced to put my store in vacation mode, because I don't wanna take more orders if I cannot get my funds - they are stuck in Etsy!
What is going on?! there's SOO many Etsy sellers experiencing this - something is terrible wrong...
@TinTeddy I simply will not be selling to other places other than Canada and USA .
It just got to complicated to do so here on Etsy. I will continue to sell worldwide on my own website though.
How many days, please, your shop was on forced vacation, please?
And did they ask to provide any document?
I am asking because same is happening to me, and just after Canada post finally went back to business - now this. I just want to project how long it will be before my shop is released and should I prepare any docs while on hiatus.

Actually returns are 30, 14 days to notify and 14 to do return, Etsy doesn’t have 28 so lists at 30.
@pipeworkpieces I'm glad you got your shop back. But the whole thing makes me furious for my fellow sellers. Etsy is such a ****show right now. So... are you going to put yourself back on vacation mode soon being so close to Christmas, or were you planning to stay open anyway? I put myself on vacation mode yesterday, but it's okay because I know I did it myself. I can't believe what Etsy has become. So sorry this happened to you during the holidays, ugh.
Same, most popular problem - vocation mode already 32 days. Made new shop, added some details, but didn`t finish, next day was problem with login, got lucky that then support wasn`t still "dead". They let me in and told that my shop was blocked due to error - sorry. Okey mistakes happens. Then I added all products, profile info, pictures, videos about products how we make them and so on. add all required documents, then on November 18th, they asked to upload some business document to verify, I did that on next day. Was waiting 10 days, nothing, uploaded again, nothing, then again, still nothing. It`s month ago, a lot support requests from this shop, from other shops where everything works, nothing. The best replay I got when I reach some support to chat was "I will send this request to our team".
So as I see for the most posts about this problem, some MOD.... says that he will close this case and send this request next to some of the Etsy team, sounds like "we delete this, forget and keep your problems with your self".
Maybe I`m wrong, then prove it Etsy Support Team...
Ouh and one more thing, I was already decide to close shop and try again, but guess what, I should contact with support before that, but is it possible?
I haven’t sold on Etsy for a year now due to fear of being randomly shut down or having my funds put on hold for no reason.
The majority of my customers came from Instagram anyway so I just moved my business there.

Looks like you're un-vacationed! Another glictch, they appear to have greater control over than they've previously acknowledged. eg On/off & back again, same day!
