THE CHECKOUT IS BROKEN 100%

I've gotten messages from family and emails from customers saying that they have tried several times to checkout with items from my shop and that ETSY would not allow them to checkout.

 

I have been complaining to ETSY that the checkout is broken and has been for MONTHS now and they just tell me everything is fine, it's all in my head, all I need to do is promote more, the problem is ME!!!!!

 

Well guess what, the tap is off, the checkout is broken, and if your ETSY shop has stopped performing, IT ISN'T YOU! IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT! 

What is the point of promoting if customers cannot even give us their money?

I placed one of your items in my cart, and got through checkout, I just did not complete the very last step to process payment. I wish I could help you more with the issue.

I never said I have been making daily sales for the entire 11 years. That started happening when I listed my crochet patterns.

There are a few threads about orders showing on the dashboard but no order in orders or shop payment account and no email. I have one from yesterday but the order still hasn't shown up. I have also seen a few on facebook saying they got messages from buyers asking why they canceled orders but the seller never had an order from that person and the order number doesn't match any order they had. There is definitely a problem. I am not saying no orders can be made but there is a problem with some orders.

It's hard to know what is going on.

There are so many scammers trying to test stolen credit card numbers, that sales may initially appear to go through, but then are canceled so quickly, they disappear.

There was an issue for some sellers, though, with an error message at checkout, and no one could purchase from those shops.

That issue seemed to be related to switching currencies in shops, causing a checkout issue.

It's working for me, too. I'm able to process sales every day. Have your relative try to make a purchase, and take screen shots when  they get to the screen where they are having problems. Send those to Etsy along with an inquiry about your problem.

Go to Commmunity & Help -->Help and pick any question. Scroll to the bottom of the answers page and click I Still Need Help. Change the subject line to Technical Problems, Customers can't check out. Then write them an email explaining what is occurring and attach the screenshots. When  you do the screenshots, be sure you catch the URL of the page that is having a problem.

Then wait until Etsy answers. It could take 10 days and the first time they may send you a canned response that does not address your problem. Scroll to the bottom of that email and click I Still Need Help, then do it again. Do NOT start any separate emails outside of that chain, or they will immediately close the first one and consider it solved. Then you will have to start all over again.

You may get 2 or 3 canned responses from Etsy before a real person reads it. Just keep answering by clicking the I Still Need Help link in Etsy's most recent email to you, and tell them your problem again, and attach the screenshots again until they finally solve your problem.

What issue are your customers having with checkout?

I put an item from your shop in my cart, and was able to proceed to the payment stage, without completing the end step.
