Suspended without a reason?

I have more than one Etsy store. I keep only sell one type of item per store. I was going to open one for another product and as soon as I did the they suspended the store. I hadn't even listed a single item.

Anyway, I then logged into my main account the one with all the sales. They suspended that account also, but gave no reason.

Is that common? They responded to my appeal within a day and say decision is final and I cannot further talk to them about that issue.

I read a long post on Reddit that says I still can be reinstated, no matter what that email says, just give it up to 2 or 3 weeks.

If I do end up staying suspended all I want to know is why.. is it common for them to not say why? The new store that got suspended has a brand new email, so it's not like I had to go digging through emails.. there are NO emails why on either of my accounts. However, I find that they haven't suspended this account which has canvas paintings.

Isn't there any way I can email or talk to a real human? Because I'm having a hard time finding a way just to contact someone. There's so many things to click in order to find a way to just ask "Can I ask why I was suspended?"

@ParanormalPaint: It is always hard to speculate on Etsy's reasoning, but did you disclose all of your shops within each shop? I don't see that on this one and that may have been at least in part a factor.

What do you mean disclose all of your shops within each shop? Etsy doesn't allow you to have multiple shops on the same email address, so they're all separate entities.

You are NOT suspended. That is a scammer telling you that. Ignore that message and put it in your spam folder. Do not give them your email or any other financial info.

Whenever you get a "Suspension" notice the first thing to do is check your live shop. If it is open ..you are not suspended. A suspended shop will show a "no longer selling" or "On vacation" or "not currently selling" banner.

 Why would I check my live shop? I know I'm suspended. They deactivated all my listings. My live shop has no listing and says I am not selling on Etsy.

Yes it is normal for them to NOT say why. At least that is what I have read. They don't want you to know exact reason because you could skirt around it next time. Mockups or Infringements are the most likely culprits.

Do NOT "verify" anything!! Any actual Etsy message will be in the Etsy message area of your convos. (Not visible on the app ..check via a browser)

I would suggest that on this shop you take down David Bowie, unless you are licensed.

I see at least one infringing item in this shop. With the way you title and list your products, if that's how you represent all your shops, it is highly unlikely your products were found because of their product type and searches related to that (because you literally don't even say what any product is for it to be found in search), but I would take a guess that if you have a shop set up the same way that "IS" getting sales, it would likely be due to infringement (popular brands, celebrities, movies, video games, cartoon characters, disney, marvel, etc) used in the title, such as your listing that's simply titled "David Bowie (5x7 canvas)" and the product description is exact copy from your canvas printer, and no tags at all that I can see.

OP mentioned logging into a shop with sales and it was suspended along with another, based on them getting sales when it seems like at best they'll only get found based only on a famous word/name as their listing title, they may very well have had shops shut down for infringement.

I did not know a title can be infringement. I named all the artwork quickly and based on what my first thought was. It kind of looked like David Bowie.  There's another called "Son of Buscemi". I'll just call it Bowie or something then.

Anyway, my other shop was only t-shirts. It did not have any relation to this one and not named after celebrities. Tags I'm not concerned with. I just put up these items as a "well, I designed them I'll put them up if I get a sale I get a sale". It's no skin off my back. Cost me 20 cents a listing. Big whoop. So the only tag ould be in the title (canvas). Anyway, I'm not really concerned with the sales of the canvas prints. But I would have liked to know about my main store.. as it was the one I focused on. I had over 100 shirt designs at one point.

No, you can’t just call it Bowie instead of David Bowie. It’s the same in the end.

Kurt Cobain, Star Wars, Barbie, the Ramones, Kiss, Starbucks, etc.? You definitely need to read up on Intellectual property.

I have seen several reporting suspensions when trying to open a secondary shop. I have not seen what the reason was but I think they had to get with Etsy to fix it.

I appreciate that link. Let's see.. it's Saturday so I'll keep an eye on Monday. The only issue is time difference.  It's a 5 hour time difference from them to me I think. So they call me at 3AM and it's 8AM their time.

I have $19.66 in the other suspended account. It said since I am under $25 I cannot request a payout and that I'd be paid out on Monday. Monday came and went. A second Monday came and went. I sent in a support request 12 days ago with no answer.

Just so you know, when you go through live chat, it's an outsourced call center, not etsy employees. They won't be able to tell you anything, I bet.

Stick with an email. Keep stating "I still need help"
