star seller badge

Dear Etsy Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to request a review of my account's qualification for the Star Seller badge on the Etsy platform.

As an active member of the Etsy community, I have consistently strived to provide exceptional service to my customers. I believe that my dedication to delivering high-quality products, excellent customer service, and maintaining a positive seller rating aligns with the criteria for the Star Seller badge.

Could you please review my account and consider awarding the Star Seller badge accordingly? I am confident that my account meets the necessary qualifications and would greatly appreciate your prompt attention to this matter.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your response.

Re: star seller badge

You are speaking with other Sellerrs here, not Etsy

"I am confident that my account meets the necessary qualifications " Unfortunately, your confidence is misplaced.

You are a new Shop and have to wait 90 days after your first Sale to be eligible for Star Seller Badge/s. If you qualify, the Badge/s will only be updated on the 1st day o the next Month.

You have to have 5 orders and the equivalent Order Value of USD $ 300 in the 90 dat Review Period.

You also need 95+% for Shipping and Messaging and 4.8 for Reviews.

Perhaps you should click on Star Seller in Shop Manager and read all the information provided to get a better understanding of how SSP

actually works??

But, before you worry too much about SSP, perhaps you should familiarize yourself with the TOUs or selling on Etsy

Re: star seller badge

When was your first sale? (Must be at least 90 days ago)

Do all your products meet the criteria for selling on Etsy? (handmade by you, vintage - 20+ years old, or craft supplies)?

Re: star seller badge

Lots of resellers are star sellers.  That doesn't matter to Etsy.

Re: star seller badge

A line directly from the latest announcement, "We've reduced the number of policy-violating listings that shoppers see by 60%, have more clearly highlighted our policies during the listing process, and are ensuring badges like Star Seller and Etsy’s Picks are reserved for items that comply with our policies."

Let's see them put their money where their mouth is.

Re: star seller badge

Writing an essay, AI generated or otherwise, doesn't get you star seller. You either meet the requirements or you don't.  Star Seller is awarded only on the first day of the month.

Re: star seller badge

Dear @Vanluxedesign

Etsy is for handmade (made or designed by you), vintage (from 20 years old), and craft supplies only.

Etsy is NOT for resellers from AliExpress, Temu, Amazon and other websites where your listings can be found with a quick right-click search.

@Natalya1905

Are you implying that those Stanley cups are not handmade?

Dear @Vanluxedesign,

I hope this message finds you. I am writing to request your review of the rules you agreed to adhere to here on the Etsy platform.

As an active member of the Etsy community, I have consistently strived to help make this platform better by helping make sure only those shops that fit into the allowed categories (handmade, vintage, craft supplies) continue selling here. I believe that my dedication has been proven.

Could you please review your account and consider removing items that don't adhere to the rules accordingly? I am confident you will find many items that don't meet the necessary qualifications and would greatly appreciate your prompt attention to this matter.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your response.

Warm regards,

Re: star seller badge

Etsy is not the place for your products. The only resellers that Etsy policies allow is vintage and craft supplies. I wouldn't worry about how or why you can't qualify for SS. I would be worried more about how long you can stay here before people start reporting you for reselling.

Re: star seller badge

You are listing commercially manufactured brand name products as "Handmade".  They are not handmade, you had no part in the making or design of the products, you are simply re-selling.  This in itself should eliminate you from the Star Seller Program (as the recent messaging from Etsy posted above would support).

Apart from that, you have only 7 sales and the first of these appears to have occurred late last month or early this month.  You have to wait 90 days from the date of that sale, and then from the start of the next month you may be able to qualify.  There are 5 components to Star Seller,

1. Number of sales in the period (must be more than 5)

2. Value of sales in the period (must be more than $300, $350 or $400 depending on your location)

3.  98% or more shipped on time with tracking

4. 95 % or more 5 star reviews

5. 95% or more responses to messages within 24 hours

You do not handmake these items, even the manufacturer does not handmake them, they are mass produced commercial products.

You have not been selling for long enough to even meet the eligibility for Star Seller.

In short, you are reselling commercial products, and justifying it be lying about the items by listing them in the Handmade Category, this is not allowed on Etsy and they have recently been cracking down on the practice.

You would do better to go to another site that allows reselling.

Re: star seller badge

"Stanley products purchased from Stanley Resellers come with a lifetime warranty. Rest easy knowing we’ve got your back through it all." (right from the listing description)

Knowing you're a reseller is half the battle. Just know that etsy won't have your back on selling these at all.
