Hello everyone,
I run an active shop with 149 products in German and use Etsy Ads. Yesterday, I added additional translations (French, Spanish, Dutch) to 19 of these products. The main language remains German, and English was already added as a secondary language.
Since then, my entire shop traffic has dropped to almost zero – despite active Etsy Ads. Even products that were not changed are receiving no clicks or views.
Please help me if there is a technical issue with indexing, visibility, or ad delivery..?
How can I actually contact technical support??
Thank you so much!!
Sheny
Your shop should be in your own language with auto translation enabled.
Thank you for the reply.
It was always enabled. I only added more manual translations to some languages, that's it. And as I mentioned earlier, to only 19 out of 149.
I first thought, the system just needs more time for the update, but then I remembered, that I also have Etsy Ads.
I always thought we had to choose between the 2 and could not use both in the same time, but apparently it's possible, anyway the french translation is perfect , descriptions, about page etc, everything is fine. Perhaps the algorithm is in shock and doesn't know what to think about your last move.
Your return policy is not legal since you sell to the UK and EU. It must be at least 30 days. Your materials and shop byline are not translating to English.
Thank you so much for looking into my Shop and the advice about my return policy. I will definitely change that. The only thing is, correct are 14 days and not minimum 30. And also into materials, thank you for that!
Even tho, nothing of this could possibly drop my traffic so much. I really hope the algorithm is in shock, like TenGramsDesign said
I'd still be very helpful if someone can tell me how I can actually talk to a technician on here and report a technical problem??
Thank you!!!
Katastrophe, in an incognito window I absolutely can't find myself on Etsy!!!
Often when there are lots of changes to a shop, it takes the system a while to kind of process it. Usually it freaks out for a bit.
That said, I do notice that your titles are very similar in each section. You need to make them all a little different, including style, colour, materials and who they are meant for. Minimalist gift for best friend. Wedding gift, original painting of couple. Maybe ask someone else how they would title it. At the moment just looking at the title a customer wouldn't know which one they bought.
Someone searching won't find something very vague. Like the difference between searching for a cat mug (1000+) , and searching for a large white ceramic mug Siamese (48 results). You might also update your announcement.
Meanwhile Etsy is doing a lot of backend changes so it might be coincidence.
Thank you sooo much for your support and this valuable input and tips! I'm definitely going to follow your advice and change things. I also very hope that the visibility of my shop will change..? I really couldn't find my shop and tried to write my name in a different way...
Thank you again! I appreciate any tips and advice very much!
Any change to a product title or description can cause changes in search results. The same thing happened to me when I updated some titles to include different languages. I had one poster that was selling almost every day and it went to only selling a few each month. It never recovered. Some product will get back up on the search results, others will not.
That's very sad, I hope Etsy will improve that some day! Thank you very much for your information and experience!!
Ones again, wanted to say Thank You to everyone who made suggestions and helped, I highly appreciate everyone of you!!
Yesterday, the statistics were stuck for all of us. They came back late last night, but this morning mine got stuck again because I have an ad running on Instagram that shows 12 website clicks, yet the stats don’t show anything. So this is clearly the issue, and it has nothing to do with the changes.
Wow, thank you a lot for the information!! I'm so relieved now!
