I have been a star seller for months and now that I didn’t respond to messages that other sellers sent me on the purchase side of Etsy when I purchased products . it has affected my business account that’s crazy .

You used your business account to make a purchase.  The rules clearly state that ALL new messages need a reply, regardless of whether they are from buyers or sellers.   

If you don't want your purchasing activity to interfere with your Star Seller prospects, you can open a separate account just for buying and you won't need to worry.

you have to reply to all new message threads, or mark them a s spam

that's it, it's not new, it has always been the same. and etsy marks them in blue, so you can't miss them

If you can't do this, create a separate buyer account from your selling business account, and don't buy, from your business account

This^^^^^^^It sure doesn't seem like it based on all the posts today about not getting the star seller this month because of "not" answering a message!

Same rules for 3 years, every NEW message has to be replied to or marked as spam. It doesn't matter who that message is from.

ETA: and all it would take would be a simple thank you or you're welcome or even an emoji (which would take less time to do that than post of the forums that the Etsy star seller rules are not fair).
