Star seller review calculations

Jump to solution

Could someone help me understand how the star seller reviews are calculated. In the last review period I was at 98% for reviews with 2-4 star reviews and 1-1 star review. As it moved to the new star seller review period this moved to 95% and I have had 3, 4 star reviews in this period (the 1 star dropped off)

I feel that 95% is not reflective of the 84 reviews I’ve had for Apr, May & June so far, 81 of them 5 stars and 3, 4 stars. I’ve asked Etsy support and they have just said to put my concern on this forum?

As the limit to achieve star seller is 95% I feel very vulnerable now and also out of the 3, 4 star reviews, 1 left no comment, 1 left a very positive comment (think 4 stars was pressed by accident) and 1 had a small issue so fair enough. Is this really reflective of my shop?

Thanks for any help.

Funny that you got referred to the Forums.  Here I am.  Your unpaid Etsy Support!

Right now * - anything less than a 5-star review counts as nothing.  Zero.  Star Seller now only counts the 5 stars, and others have no weight, unlike the shop review stars.  So for every less-than 5-star review, you need 19 more 5-star ones to bring it to the 95% minimum required for the star seller metric.

* This will change in July, when a 4.8 review minimum will be needed to qualify for that part of the Star Seller program.  I'm guessing all reviews will be weighted like a typical average.

So this part is up for interpretation - I guess we'll find out!

"We heard your feedback about how Etsy calculates the ratings stat for Star Seller. We’re updating the criteria to a 4.8 rating average so that 4 star ratings count more positively toward your eligibility for Star Seller. "

My 5 star reviews are not being  calculated within 24 hrs. In fact I don't think they are being calculated at all.. I really hate the star seller program. Sorry.

I see 4x 4* reviews of 85 for april to date

81/85*100=95%

@PillowDetails - It may be a good thing for many shops that Etsy is changing how they will calculate Reviews for the SSP.

But once established, the free helpers here in the forums will need an calculator, lol.
