Star Seller

Hello. I should have received my star seller label but my account is stating that one of my orders does not have a tracking number. The order does have a tracking number attached and was sent in on time.

I got dinged... and therefore not a Star Seller for not responding to an email from a vendor that I BOUGHT from that my item had shipped.    It had nothing to do with my shop, had no call to action yet this was the ONE single thing that is keeping me from Star Seller.  Ugh!

The rules clearly state that all new messages require an answer or to be marked as spam within 24 hrs in order to qualify for SS. It doesn't matter who they are from or what they are about, no-one reads your messages, the system is automated and simply compares the time-stamps for receipt and response to determine compliance. If you mark that message as spam now, it should update your stats within a day or two, but it will not help with the badges already awarded.

If you don't want your purchases to affect your SS status, you have a couple of options.

1. You can use Auto reply to send a "thank you" or an "I'll get back to you shortly" message. This counts as a response for SS, but needs to be reset every five days.
2. You can create a few snippets with various messages and send quick responses that way in just 3 clicks, Snippets/Select/Send.
3. You can create a new, buyer only Etsy account and keep all your purchases separate from your shop.

Number 3 is the easiest option, once your buyer account is set up it requires no ongoing maintenance and you never have to worry about messages from sellers interfering with your SS rating.

The Messaging matrix is the one part of SS that the seller can ABSOUTELY control.

If Etsy's system can't link with the shipper to verify despatch, it will count the order as not shipped with tracking/on time.

Labels purchased through Etsy are the only way to ensure every order sent gets the tick.  However, since not everyone CAN use Etsy labels, this is just another way to disadvantage non-US shops.

@atihanah: If the shipper is supported by Etsy make sure that the shipped date, tracking number and shipping company show correctly on the actual order. Etsy relies on a third party vendor for tracking (and tracking number validation) and uses the data on the order. An unsupported shipping company or invalid tracking number equals shipped without tracking.

I had all my shipping profiles with 1-3 days processing time and typically I ship the orders the same day or the next day, using Etsy shipping labels, however my STAR SELLER shows "2 orders missing processing time" I do NOT understand how this is possible unless is a star seller system glitch. Anyone experience the same issue?

I thought that glitch was fixed a long time ago - the fact that you cannot publish a listing without the "processing time" doesn't seem to matter to Etsy.  There is no way that it's our fault that there is no processing time - it's impossible to publish a listing without it!
