Star Seller score is wrong - help.

Jump to solution

Hey! I just went to check my Star Seller score, and it says I sold 1 item, but I have 39 so far in this period. I would love to get my first badge in this review period. Can anyone help?

Etsy help article said: If you think your Star Seller score was calculated incorrectly, you can let us know in the Technical Issues forum.  So here I am.

Thank you,

Maja

Has it been 90 days since your first sale? If not then you aren't eligible for the star or the individual badges yet.  That's usually the reason for it not counting all of your orders.

After 90 days from first sale things will calculate properly.

You need to reach $300 and 5 sales to qualify for star seller.  After that the badges for messages and reviews.

The star seller is only awarded monthly.

If you've met all the criteria this month, it will show up on the 1st of the month when the info is updated.  Wait until then to try contacting Etsy.  Not that you'll be able to, lol.  But that's a whole other story.

Star Seller statiatics begin from the date of your first Order and you will only be eligible for Star Seller 90 days after your first Sale. Star Seller is only updated on the first day of every Month.

Everything you need to know is in this article

It says: These stats are refreshed every 24 hours. Not 1st of the month.

@DesignBoomGraphics: Yes the statistics are updated once per day, but there are some gotchas. Physical orders are often not counted until after the scheduled to ship date and Messages do not count until after the 24 hour reply window has closed.

"I would love to get my first badge in this review period." Keep in mind that Star Seller is calculated and awarded only on the 1st of each month, and on that day it must have been more than 90 days since your first sale, then you need to have met the order quantity and volume requirements during the preceding three month period, and only then are the other metrics considered.

Why 90 days? Simple...because star seller is based on a 3 month period of time.

Help center has more info here

https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/4403058372503-How-to-Become-a-Star-Seller?segment=selling

"You’ll be eligible to become a Star Seller starting 90 days after your first sale – as long as you’ve met our customer service standards for the month, and received at least 5 orders and $300 in sales over the past three months...."

Note that it's 90 days from first sale not just 90 days since you opened.

You still have that goal to work towards. Keep working on it while you wait for the 90 days to be up.

Don't look at it that way.  You've been open less than 90 days, and you're well on your way.  It's a goal; something to pat yourself on the back for when you get there.  Some people don't think it amounts to a hill of beans, but hey, I'm sure you'll enjoy it when you get there.

Since your first sale was less than 90 days ago, you don't yet qualify for Star Seller so if your stats are incomplete it won't matter as you can't qualify this month anyway.  There is no point stressing over things you can't control.  Wait until a full 3 months have passed since your first sale, then you will be eligible on the first day of the following month (providing you have met all the criteria).
