Star Seller - messages

The seller app has been glitching lately and not registering message responses. I have responded to all but 1 message within the 24 hours and it calculated my rate of response at 94%. This is not accurate. The app is glitching and not giving the pop up notification of great job responding. If someone looked through my messages at the time stamps you would see that I have responded.

How many messages did you receive in the period?

Not responding to just one message could give you that percentage - it's just pure math.

Check the metrics to see the actual numbers.

Never use the App to reply to messages. It's known to be glitchy and I would never rely on it solely. I use the browser to reply to messages every time.

No one here are Admins that can help you.

The Star Seller is all automated by bots. No one will look at your numbers. Etsy Help can't adjust your results, either.

The app is awful. I never use it to do anything important. If someone sends me a message, I log into my shop with my desktop and reply that way - much safer.

The app is really glitchy lately. People have pointed out all sorts of issues. If you can, use a computer or tablet and answer through the etsy site and not the app. It's just not reliable for some things.

@KnotandSquare: There have been reports of replies made using the app 'disappearing'. But depending on how many new incoming Message threads you have during the three month evaluation period, not replying to one within 24 hours can drop your percentage substantially. It takes 19 answered on time new Message threads to offset one not answered on time new Message thread (to be at 95%).

click on "PREVIOUS review period"

you can download the csv, and see which ones etsy thinks you responded to in time, and which one/s you didn't

....

don't forget messages are in UTC, the app is in your time zone, so you will have 5 hours less than you think, if you use your time zone on the app, and not UTC.

It's important to check etsy messages themselves, not apps or e-mails.

It is entirely possible to get a 94% rate by missing just one message.  It is basic math.  For every message you miss you need 19 answered to offset the missed one.  If you had less than 20 messages in the SS period just one missed one will do it.
