This Star Seller program is bogus! I achieved it for many months in a row, and then I missed answering someone's question by a few hours, because we were on the road and I had no internet access. The ONE message I missed took me from 100% down to 92%!! I have been working all month answering questions on time, even though I don't get that many. I answered 14 questions on time, and yesterday it still only moved to 93%!! TODAY, it went down to 92% and I haven't even had any questions to answer!! How will I ever get it back up again to 95% when I barely move the needle after answering a dozen questions?!??!??! AND WHY did it drop to 92??? What a bunch of BS!
Remember that the stats you now see are for the December star (September, October and November). The "Last Review Period" shows the stats for the November Star (August, September and October).
If you're somewhere with no internet access you need to set up an auto-reply then you wouldn't have missed messages.
The rules are very clear and have been for over 1 year that you have to reply within 24 hours to ALL NEW messages.
The % could have went down today because yesterday the % was based on Aug/Sept/Oct messages for the Nov badge.
Since it's now Nov the % for Dec will be based on Sept/Oct/Nov.
You could have enabled auto-reply.
Yeah, it happened to me. Had a message from a friend that didn't need a response. I wasn't thinking. I was surprised how much it dropped the percentage, I guess because I don't get many messages.
Only the first message counts!!!!!!!!
It's not bogus, it's working as intended,
and you should be working to answer messages within 24 hours, to provide good customer service,
the star seller badge is just an ornament, which doesn't do much as all

14/15*100=93%
You have to answer 19 out of 20 messages on time to be at 95%. If you get less messages than that and you miss 1 you will be below. The percentage went from 93% to 92% because as of today the messages from July no longer count.
It takes three months. I was penalized for not answering an Etsy test message that I never even received in my dashboard. I couldn't get any help from Etsy. This program really hurts small sellers!
