Star Seller Shipping Data

Jump to solution

My progress chart shows I'm "almost there" with on-time tracking and shipping because I allegedly didn't upload tracking info for two items, according to the downloaded data provided. It's plainly incorrect. Those two orders had ship-by dates of 1/30, and I both uploaded their tracking numbers *and* shipped them yesterday (1/30). The orders themselves show that when I look at them. Will Etsy rerun this report for updates before they close the qualification period for this month? This is an irritating error.

It sometimes takes a while to update.

Etsy doesn't count the last 2 days of a month.

It will update and reflect for the next badge, but not for tomorrows.

@SanguineAndSage  @StashmoverCreations : This issue has been addressed in several threads on this forum. Have the packages been scanned? If the shipper is supported by Etsy make sure that the shipped date, tracking number and shipping company show correctly on the actual order. Etsy relies on a third party vendor for tracking (and tracking number validation) and uses the data on the order. An untrackable package equals shipped without tracking. Usually a day or two after the package has been scanned the CSV file correctly shows tracking and shipment status and the Star Seller stats auto update. Keep in mind that Star Seller stats are in UTC not in your local time zone.

I also have incorrect data for my shipping. I always add tracking numbers yet Etsy claims three recent orders do not have them. I did notice one has wrong carrier info. I always ship my items well before my proposed shipping date. I should be eligible for Star seller status.

My packages were scanned by USPS, an Etsy supported shipper. I shipped and uploaded tracking correctly.

I appreciate your mentioning that it may take additional time ("a day or two") to update their records. I waited, and yes, my status was updated correctly 24 hours or so after my post here (48 or so after they were scanned).

On a related note, when you go to Etsy's FAQ on this topic, as I did before asking for assistance, it says that it may take 24 hours to update, rather than 48. It also says that Etsy doesn't make manual changes to data or status and directs users to let them know here (they include a direct link) if they believe Etsy has made an error.

The information in your post was helpful. The condescending tone was not. It's discouraging for me—and, I suspect, other users who see it and are also considering asking for help with something—and it makes it less likely that I'd use the Etsy Community forums as a resource. Please consider that even though you have obviously answered many questions (and, I'm sure, helped many users), it is likely many other users' first time asking for help here. If repeating yourself is tiresome, perhaps you might take a break for a while. In the meantime, it might be useful to take it up with Etsy to update their FAQ with the helpful information you provided so that people don't post about this, as they are directed to do.

@SanguineAndSage: Apologies if the tone came across as condescending - that certainly was not the intent. This forum does have a search function which many posters (NOT saying this applies to you) just cannot seem to be bothered to use even though they would have had an answer to their question right away.

All these rules and regulations to something that doesn't seem very beneficial anyway. I have way too much on my mind to worry about things like updating, the last two days and so on. I had auto replies on for my shop and then I get a notice to say I missed an email. Well the auto replies is a 24 hour x 7 days a week answering service provided by Etsy and says that it counts as a first message to buyers.  This badge thing is way too much to worry about when other things take precedence.

@FairybehindtheDoor   It may seem that way but the SSP is a representation of the customer service Etsy wants.  If sellers don't comple and earn the badges then payment reserve seems likely.

The rules and regulations are important and once followed make it easy to run a shop.

If you are having difficulties because of external issues, I am sorry to hear that, but running a business does mean paying attention to teh details.

The auto reply is not for 24 x7.  The rule for that is that the shop set up times when they are open to receive messages.  It's right there in the auto reply system. The reply is not a solid 24/7.
