I have spoke to 7 different people at Etsy Support and they say they can't fix my Star Seller rating which is incorrect. The system has reduced my score because it believes I did not answer 2 messages within a 24 hour period, where as I did answer these but in a different thread.
I have been penalised not for something I have failed to do but for your systems limitations. I am aware this is changing which clearly shows you are aware of the limitation but this does not help me gain my star seller rating I have worked tirelessly to obtain.
I can provide screenshots to show all messages were replied to within 24 hour period.
Can you please change my rating back to its rightful place. Thank you

Then you did not reply to the actual message that was sent, therefore the rating is correct.
It's not hard to understand. You get a message, a reply to that message is required within 24 hours, or mark the message as spam. Answering the words sent in a different message thread, is not answering the message that came through.
You can mark them as spam now and in about 24-48 hours the stats should update to not show these messages in your rating.
You have spoken to 7 people at etsy and they won't change the rating. Unfortunately, despite what they or the help pages say, writing in the technical issues forum, also does not get your rating changed. Etsy do not reply to these threads.
I have replied to the message in a 24 hour period, just in a different message box.
If they are so determined to have this message in the same message box, then why is this even possible.
Perhaps you didn't understand my issue.
Shame etsy support who told me to come here for answers are not even on this forum and have left it to other etsy sellers, who can't do anything.
You could have "answered" the message by sending a completely new message to the customer.
IT's possible, because that's how the message system works. You can just keep creating new messages.
But for star seller each individual message that comes through, requires a response to that actual message.
Answering it in a different message thread with the customer, is not answering the message for star seller.
It's a computer, not a human. IT's not reading the messages. It's simply going: Message received, no reply sent to that message within 24 hours, not marked as spam - ding.
We can't change anything for you, we are just etsy sellers, like you.
However, Etsy's current information says you have to answer EVERY thread, it's been like this since the beginning.
It will change in future, but not now, or retrospectively.
Etsy says they won't change it 7 different times, then you have to believe them, and stop raising tickets that are wasting your time, and theirs.
the star seller badges don't do anything anyway,
I lost mine for 3 months, for a lovely 4* review, it did not affect sales at all.

Your rating is correct. You either replied to messages or you didn’t. Whether right or wrong, the program has worked this way for nearly a year!
I have answered the message.
The only thing that is different is the answer is in a different message box.
And why accept something because its been like this for a year. Why not continue to address these issues with their system and help the website become better for all.
What's even more disappointing is that the etsy support have told me to come here to gain an answer.
Then I discover etsy are not even on this forum.
Should I just accept this or is this another limitation to their site.
