Greetings,
I am writing to express frustration as to the false information concerning my response time. The most recent message received from an Adrian was not available for me to respond. When I went to access the message, Etsy said the URL was not recognizable. As a result I had no way to communicate with the potential customer. Every other message and response time was within the 24 hour period. All of my other metrics fit the requirements. However, because I could not respond when I attempted to do so my response percentage has been listed as 80%. I am being penalized for something that I had no control over. Very frustrated right now.
You can mark the message as spam if it won't open, and it will not count against you. Do it now and you MIGHT be in time to have it take affect before the badges are awarded. It may be just a little too late, but even if it is, at least it will fix that one for next month.

Move it to Spam and it won't affect your rating.
Join the ranks of the dissatisfied with Etsy's bad judgment. They also penalize you if you get an order during the Labor Day weekend and can't ship until the day after even though it is a legal postal holiday. And Etsy doesn't correct its mistakes immediately if ever. So many of us want them to do away with this unnecessary program. If a customer is dissatisfied with your product or service, they will let the entire community know through a bad review. You don't need Etsy adding to your problems. If you try to contact Etsy, you may never get a customer service rep or an email reply. Many of us feel your pain. Just keep on doing your best and pay more attention to your star ratings which is a much better measure of your store.
You may be too late to mark the message as spam and have the system readjust the percentage, but you can try.
