Good morning!
Per instructions from the Etsy Help Center, I'm posting here about my status not being awarded Star Seller for August. It seems like there are some glitches happening...
I met all of the criteria: 100% message response rate, 5.0 star average rating, 100% on-time shipping and tracking, 5+ orders and $300+ sales.
When I went to sleep last night, an order from the day had still not shown up in my Star Seller stats. I'd already received confirmation of the sale hours earlier. This morning I woke up to a notice that I did not qualify for August, yet the sale from yesterday was showing in my August stats.
I'm assuming that Etsy has us post here in technical issues instead of contacting customer service because they are reviewing for needed corrections. I've already seen a few others fixed on here this morning. Thank you in advance for reviewing and correcting mine also!
Michelle
@TheTangerineSun: "an order from the day had still not shown up in my Star Seller stats" Generally speaking, an order is not included in Star Seller stats until after the scheduled ship by date regardless of when it was actually shipped. Also, Star Seller stats are in UTC not your local time zone so what is July 31 to you may be August 1 to Etsy.
When exactly was your first sale?
Thanks for your reply! My first sale was April 26th.
Has it been 90 days since your first sale? If it has, today is only the 1st of August so your star might arrive soon.
August stars are for the three months May-June-July so your August sale will not count until the next period.

All of my orders thus far have shown up in Star Seller stats in less than an hour of being placed except this one...
According to Etsy, the order was placed on 07/31 and the countdown to qualify was still posted, not expired.
@TheTangerineSun: You should look at the applicable CSV file (that is what Star Seller is based on) and see if that order of July 31 (in your time zone presumably) was still July 31 to Etsy. The dates and times in the Star Seller CSV files are all in UTC (five hours ahead of Arkansas).
I don't think it's immediate at midnight on the first day of the month - maybe give it a couple of days to see if it updates?
Was it a real person on support that directed you to get additional help here or one of the handbook pages just referenced the forums?
Thanks for your reply! Hopefully it'll just take a bit for them to update, like I've seen on some previous posts.
When you click on Help Center from the Star Seller pages (3 out from the main page I think), this is the instruction:
"Etsy Support can’t make changes to your Star Seller data or manually award Star Seller badges. If you think your Star Seller score was calculated incorrectly, you can let us know in the Technical Issues forum."
Thanks for your reply! Yes, it's been more than 90 days since my first sale. I saw that it can take awhile for the badge to show up, but the notice on my Star Seller page says I didn't qualify. It looks like it's based on that last sale being credited to August instead of July...
I will check - that may be the issue. It's strange that they would have an hourly countdown for how much time you have left to qualify in the month that doesn't match their cut-off time...I did notice that it wasn't my time zone but I don't think it was 5 hours off.
Also, the top of my Star Seller page says: Looks like you didn't earn any badges for August
But wouldn't I have earned the other four badges with perfect scores?
You have to meet the minimum sales and $ first to be eligible for the individual badges. Ihad same in one of my other shops. I was $2 short of the $300 minimum and got an order at 9pm my time which would have put me over the min but since its in UTC time it didnt count for the 31st. So no star or badges awarded even if they were all 100%
I was just going to post a similar thing. Yesterday I met the criteria in every category, 100% messaging, 5.0 rating, 95% shipping(which had not updated from the 2 items I just shipped at the end of last week, so it should have been higher than 95%), Over 10 orders and over $300 in sales.
I log in today and my shipping on time dropped to 91%, despite everything shipping way before the ship by dates and my total sales dropped to under $300, which makes no sense what so ever.
This has happened to me 3 months in a row now. The last day of the month everything is fine, the 1st and for some reason I am below where I was, despite there being no changes. I am starting to think it's a sham.
That is so disappointing! There is literally a countdown on the Etsy seller app that apparently doesn't mean anything. They should fix that.
I worked hard at the end there to get my last sale! I guess I'll have to aim for being qualified way ahead of schedule next month.

Because the stats change to show you the current review period, which has now changed, being the 1st of the month.
To view the stats for todays' badge, look at "last review period".
I was well over $300 way before the end of the month.
% is counted for the last 3 months sales and data so Aug star is based on May June July. Once you tick into August the stats on your dashboard show your current level based on June July August which will have changed for the better or worse because all May's data dropped off. Ex. If you had issues in May your % would probably go up as it is not counted. But if you had a great May and issues in June and July it will go down as the good May data is no longer improving your %average. The SS stats shown on your dashboard are your current running total. If your August data raises them over the SS thresholds you get a star in September.
@TheTangerineSun I am sorry it happened to you too. I just don't understand how as early as last week I met the criteria, but today it shows I only earned 3 out of 5 when nothing changed from then to now
That sounds like a tech issue for sure. I'd definitely make a separate post so they can look into it.
@WitticismsRus I was well over the $300 before the middle of July.
Yep - the sale says 07/31 but shows up in my August file.
I guess the good news is that I'm now officially a Post Crafter lol.
Some of those last day sales get counted in the next month. Known issue and they don't do anything about it plus some of it is timezone related.
