Star Seller Badge Removed

A customer placed an order and it was delivered on August 30.  It was damaged in shipping and she posted a two-star review, forcing my customer service stat to drop from 5 to 4.6 at the closing of the review period.  The review was over the top and she messaged me and apologized that she was having a bad day and receiving a damaged product was the straw that broke the camel's back. She felt the review was extremely harsh and unwarranted.  She contacted Etsy support and deleted it. 

I rectified the situation; the review no longer appears and I have a 5-star rating and meet all of the criteria to retain Star Seller.  However, she posted the review in August and removed it in September, causing my stats to drop for a very short period so I lost the Star Seller Badge. 

I meet the criteria for the Star Seller Badge for this period.  Had this happened in the middle of the month, I would have the Star Seller Badge but because the review was there in one period and removed in the next, I've lost it. 

This is unfair to sellers.  Had she reviewed and deleted it in September OR August it wouldn't matter.  The fact that it was posted in one month and deleted in the next cost me the badge.  This is lowering my views and I'm being penalized unnecessarily.  

I would love to have Star Seller manually restored.

I'm not sure that "when" it was removed is relevant.  Pretty sure that even if removed, it still stays in the records for Star Seller.

Doesn't quite seem fair (in a way) but that's what I have heard.

I believe it does.  It's expunged. 

My point is that had this happened on any other day of the month, I would still be star seller.  

It isn't being counted towards my rating, which is once again 5.0.

I think you had a lucky escape having the review removed but the stars awarded still count.  Had the buyer edited the review to 5 stars (which is easily done from their end) then I believe it would have adjusted.

I think I would just be grateful the review has gone.

The other issue is that I responded to the review, so she couldn't manually delete it.  I will not do that again.  If it counted, then I wouldn't have a 5.0 stat now.  It was there on 8/31, so I went down to 4.6.  It was removed, I went back to 5.0.  Had it happened in the same month, I would've closed with a 5.0 and retained Star Seller.  I don't see how it is being counted if I went right back to 5.0 after it was deleted.

etsy does a re-calculation at the beginning of the month,

that's when the bots go through everything, and do the calculation,

they don't/won't run it mid month.

whatever you have at the beginning of the month, is what you have until the end, unless there is an infraction, like ip, then the bots can remove the whole star seller

It will be recalculated the beginning of next month

They only run the program that awards the Star Seller on the first of the month. They do not run it throughout the month, so if anything was changed or rectified, then you have to wait until the next month when it's run again.
