Speedy replies badge question

Do we have to reply to another sellers automated coupons or shipping notices? I didn't think we did, but am not getting the badge in October because I didn't reply to two of these? If we don't have to reply, anyone know how I can get this corrected? Thanks!

Yes. If you are using the same account for both buying and selling, then you must respond to all messages. The system does not differentiate between messages from buyers/potential buyers and sellers, because realistically those other sellers are potential buyers.

I'm a bit confused...are you getting shipping notices automatically from Etsy when a purchase you made has been shipped or is the seller that you purchased an item from actually sending you a message that they shipped your item?

I think a notice is different than a message from the seller that they shipped your item.

I don't think you need to reply to an automated messages for a coupon or a shipping notice.

Any new message from the seller you purchased from or a from a customer, yes you have to respond to with in 24 hours to keep you star seller badge.

If you go to your star seller stats and click on the message badge, you should be able to click and view what messages you missed.

That's a good point. I have only ever received those auto messages about shipping and such in my email. I assume anything coming through Etsy messages is not actually automated, even if they seem like they are.

Oh, except for the new 'thank you coupons' experiment (if that is still going on). Those supposedly were sent through messages but did not require a response because they were technically automated from Etsy.

You can go to your star seller stats, and download the messages CSV, to see which ones are counted for and against you

For the Star Seller Program, you must reply to the first message of EVERY new message thread. This includes all message threads from buyers or sellers. Etsy does state that messages from ETSY will not be counted in the Star Seller Program.
