Hey everyone. Im sorry if this has already been posted or mentioned somewhere else.
I have been looking at the stats where it stats how shoppers have viewed your items. I have found many times that the number this says to the number of views and looking at what people have viewed rarely add up to the same.
could anyone explain this. I know the number of views will be different to views. But the actual part where it says shoppers have viewed your items always seems to be higher that the number of items visited. I’m just wondering if anyone knows why this is the case.
I think a visit can be a visit to a shop or section, but a view is an actual view of an item. Also it is worth noting stats are not minute to minute and some bot views are filtered out every few hours. This is my loose understanding, I am sure someone with more exact knowledge will share.
If someone comes to your shop today and looks at 20 listings, that counts as 20 views but only 1 visit.
Also there is quite a bit of anecdotal evidence via posts in this forum that Etsy stats are often inaccurate particularly when compared to the numbers in Google analytics.
