Shop suspended due to a failed payment.

Hello!

My shop was suspended due to a failed payment. I check the finances section every day and it was always 0. On sunday it changed, but they were unable to charge my card. I paid it via Paypal immediately. I don't know why it was unable to charge my card though, because I made a purchase with that card on Etsy and I see the transaction on my bank account.

Under payment settings it says "We couldn’t verify your bank—try again with a new deposit Re-enter your bank details and we’ll send another small deposit to your account. Then, confirm the exact amount to finish verifying your bank."

I tried another bank account under my name and it is saying the same thing. What could be the reason for that?

Around 30 minutes before I got the E-mail about the suspension of my shop, I got an E-mail from Etsy, saying that Etsy reset my password to protect my Etsy account.

I wrote the customer support and provided my Information 2 days ago and a photo of my passport yesterday to help with the security process.

Should I file an appeal or wait for the customer support to resolve and close the ticket? The ticket seems to be only about the security concerns, while the suspension is because of the unpaid bill, which I paid immediately on the same day.

It takes time to update, that message will still appear for a few hours after the bank has been verified, but see the green verified under your name and bank details despite the message.

They probably suspended the account because you tried too many times to change the bank, if it is because of late payment, others have reported that this also takes time to update

Just to be sure, where should I see the green verified under my name and bank details?

In your dashboard select finances then click on "payment settings"

You will see Etsy payments

Bank details

Hmm okay, I don't have that green box unfortunately. I thought about contacting my bank, but since I could buy something from Etsy with that card, I doubt that it has to do with my bank.

Did you receive the small amount in your bank to verify your account with?

No. I only see the transactions of my purchases on Etsy via Paypal and one directly with the card, when I wanted to test the card. But no deposit. I assume it would be a really small deposit coming from etsy?

Yes only a small amount 0.16 cents or something similar.

When that appears in your bank, you go back to your dashboard where you will see a banner which says verify your bank.

When you click on this a box appears 0.00, enter the amount received there and click verify.

Once you have done this the warning still appears for some hours after but the green box will have appeared under your details. (if the amount was correct)

Okay, thank you. I put that bank card a while ago, but Ill wait and hope I will still get a deposit. And I will talk to my bank as well, just to make sure.

You are very welcome, the small deposit can take anywhere from a couple of hours to 5 working days.

Oh okay, thank you! And I got a message from support about the same time I wrote this post. The issue with the suspension seems to be resolved now. Thank you for your help!
