Shop announcement needs to be back on top of page

Anyone else notice that the shop announcement is now at the bottom of your home page? I make important updates to my customers here (like if our shipping department is closed for a few days, or upcoming sales). Being at the bottom of the page now, my customers aren't seeing it. Any way to move it back to the top of the page??

For whatever reason, Etsy is doing another location test, but yes I agree, putting it at the bottom is a very bad decision!

There are two very long threads about this already on the Forum. Nobody likes it, nobody wants it, nobody can see any point to it. And there appears to be no way to contact anyone who might be able to do something about it.

Yeah, I noticed that, too. I have no idea why they decided to put them all the way at the bottom, but they need to put it back on top. If it's an announcement, it needs to be one of the first things shoppers see for a shop.

It's a test. It hasn't moved for everyone.

Those of us not in the test still see it at the top where it usually is.

Location at the bottom makes no sense...In my announcement, beyond an introduction. I also list the names of my other shops...it is unlikely that anyone will scroll all the way down and then click on Announcement to find out this info....I am hoping it goes back up where it belongs!!

I don't exactly have a banner so from a purely aesthetic point of view it looks like SHlT with the big glob of white where the announcement belongs.

Eh. I don't like it there either, but it's been under the About page on the app for a while now and most people are there. Makes no sense, announcements are usually done in front of any/everything else. A better title for it now is 'by the way...'

I just noticed mine is also at the bottom. I wouldn't worry about it because hardly anyone reads it anyway and I am sure it will go back to the top when Etsy gets done playing with it.

I think it's the endless "playing with it" that people object to. when there are plenty of things that need fixing. You're probably right about who reads it though!

Couldn't agree more. As in physical shops, announcements need to at the top/front as customers consider coming in. Please put it back to where it was. Demoting it makes no sense.

Agree! It is patently stupid to put announcements after the items.  Announcements by their very definition cry to be topmost to bring attention to issues customers need to know.  Especially now with all the tariff nonsense and sellers having to institute and convey workarounds to meet rules and Etsy's lack of caring about anything seller-related.

I’ve about given up on the idea of them putting it back at the top where it belongs. Why Etsy would think putting it at the bottom is a good idea, is beyond me (insert eye roll here).

I can only think of two reasons ... first, they wanted to remove from view any potential seller statements that disparage Etsy or in any other manner, instill a lack of confidence in a buyer.  And too, to hide as much as possible people suggesting personal web sites might be a better fit for their purchase needs.

Or as number two, a yearning to keep the interface business-like a la Amazon style, with no distractions before the main event.

I can possibly see this on the product pages but not on the shop home page.

How do I let my customers know I’m on vacation for a couple weeks. I still take orders and give a 25% discount for the delayed shipping. It has always worked well. I don’t want to close my shop for the 2 weeks. Any ideas!?? Thanks

Add this fact to the announcements now foolishly located below your listings, then set the shipping date for processing out by two+ weeks so the expected delivery date customers are shown is pushed out.

CountryRockCreations - I do this exact thing as well! But now they don't see the announcement until they're a little annoyed at the delayed shipping. I hope Etsy moves it back to the top soon. I need it!
