Shipping prices not being combined and charged correctly

On a multiple item order with the following items:

1 at media mail pricing free

1 shipping at $8.75 priority + $3.50 additional item (fixed shipping rate)

1 shipping at $14.75 +$6 Additional item (fixed shipping rate)

the customer was charged $9.50

That makes ZERO sense and is a glitch that needs to be fixed.

Obviously, I'm not going to bill the customer for the difference but Etsy needs to make this right.

I'm not asking for help, just letting people to keep heads up on their larger combined orders for bugs.

I put two of your items in the cart - the highest priced item was $28 and shipping was $8.75

The other item was $15 and shipping was $4.45 - Shipping cost should have been $8.75 plus whatever you had in the with another item column

Total shipping was $9.60 - which obviously wasn't right unless you had .85 cents in your with another item column for the $28 item

If you are doing fixed shipping it sounds like you might not have the right numbers in your with another item column

If you are using calculated shipping I can't help with that - don't understand it and don't use it.

Etsy takes calculated shipping items first, then adds the Additional Item price for fixed shipping items.

If your media mail item was setup as CS but as free, that would explain it. 

If it's not, then its the weird glitch that sometimes happens, when a free shipping item is taken as the highest One Item shipping cost, and it adds all the other Additional Item shipping costs to it. This is a glitch, but it's entire randomly and quite rare.

Etsy is supposed to take the greater primary shipping cost first always, then apply the additional costs.  In this case bare minimum it should be $14.75 + additional item costs.

I think it is the media mail throwing it which was free, but still a bug that needs to be fixed.

Etsy takes the calculated shipping first then any additional fixed shipping secondary costs..so in your case zero plus$6.00 plus $3.50.

Keeping that in mind you may want to adjust the shipping of your listings. The highest cost first is only if they are all fixed.
