Scam
The only thing is im not sure how they got my email
Emails are easy to get by anyone who knows their way around the internet. So are your phone number, address, family members, place of employment, etc. If you are using a computer and/or cell phone, your life is anything but private.

Hi, Welcome to Etsy. Scammers tend to target new Sellers, often appearing within seconds after someone lists an item/s. I have been seeing an increase of new Sellers coming to the Forum lately; some are being bombarded with Messages from scammers. You don't expect to start fresh on a site, and immediately get hit with this garbage. And as a new Seller, I can see where you could be caught by it; it could happen to anyone. Re: your statement about how did they get your email. That's a very good question. And I love how the idiots tell you to package securely and ship on time (how very helpful).
Many scammers are posing as "Buyers", stating they need your email for an Order. They don't, Etsy already has it. They are trying to get you to input your banking info, so they can steal from you. When you receive a LEGIT Order, it will appear in "Orders & Shipping" (Left Column of Shop Dashboard); it will also show in your Payment Account. if it isn't there, you have no Order. Mark the scammer's Message as Spam (so you don't get dinged for S Seller). And never click on links or engage with them. In your case, it sounds like they were posing as Etsy Support, informing you of a sale.
"Verification" is a popular scam, as well as posing as Etsy Staff/Support, etc. Scanning of QR Codes is another. When you receive a LEGIT Message from Etsy Support/Staff, etc., it will appear in the "From Etsy" Folder (in Messages). If it isn't there, Mark the Message as Spam (so you don't get dinged for S Seller).

Hope this is helpful to you, and I hope you don't receive any more of these bloody scammer Messages.
I am a new seller and what you described is exactly what I have been bombarded with with each listing. I have been reporting as spam all night long. I now am getting threats that my account is suspended by the scammers...I worry because in my emails i got an email from etsy for the one time set up fee and monthly post fees and worry that is also a scam ...
the emails look the same.
@KalisPolymerShop Make sure you have a license from Studio Ghibli to use their characters in your shop. Otherwise your product is IP-infringing and cannot be sold anywhere, on or off Etsy.
Scammers tend to target new shops.

If you receive an actual order, you will see it in your "Orders and Shipping" section and you will receive an email from Etsy notifying you that you have a sale, and there will be a notification in your dashboard as well.
