Scam?

This is too dodgy - I am assuming it is a scam.

I got the below message (with a notification to my email) in my general etsy message inbox. It was way too soon after posting my first item for sale. Got very excited then noticed it was trying to redirect my to a tinyurl (with a .ru extension!) and then checked that the postcode for the "buyer" is nowhere near where the address is. Have marked it as spam - do I need to do anything else.

Also, as a first time seller, what would an official sale look like?

Thanks

Re: Scam?

Scam. Your orders will show up in the "Orders and Shipping" section of the shop manager. You don't need to go to any outside links to complete an order.

Re: Scam?

Remove the name immediately before Etsy does it for you.

Re: Scam?

That's definitely a scam. It's been going on for a few months. Mark the message as SPAM.

You don't need to confirm an order - it will appear on your orders page.

You also don't need to give customers your email address (in case anyone asks for it - another scam which is going around). Etsy already has your email.

Don't click on links or QR codes in emails or messages - even if they look legitimate.

Re: Scam?

Ps. The address does not appear to be real but you should remove it just in case.

Re: Scam?

@Time4Burning: Real orders will show up on your Orders & Shipping page and your Payments page. https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/115015710308-What-to-Do-After-You-Sell-an-Item?segment=selli... has an overview of how orders work for sellers.
