Hi there

We are an australian company and we send to all over the EU, lately we have had products turned around because we don't have an EU Authorised Representative at the moment, we have a UK one, but not one for the EU, who do you use or is it not worth the hassle?

Thanks

Kailah

@VanillaMintDesigns

Nice business model for them too:-

Our licensing service

We look after your licensing!

from €500

Wonder how much it will cost when a proxy is required for every country within the EU??

@MyOrganisedHome and that price doesn't even include the actual licensing fees per country. That price is just to tell you what licenses you need (and perhaps fill it out for you, but not sure tbh).

follow the money and see who is related or associated to whom

Whilst the EU funding black hole continues to grow, expect more inventive ways for the European Commission to get these shortfalls from it's citizens.

As the nations continue to reject increases to their "share" of the EU funding, they have to get it from somewhere and they certainly do not get it from the likes of Amazon, facebook & co, Starbucks or Apple

Re: SENDING PRODUCTS TO EU, Authorised Person issues

Oh, this is getting more and more frustrating and confusing.

My business is tiny and my workshop is tiny. My postal packaging is cardboard and kraft paper. I pay a premium for it because I don't have the space to buy it in bulk, which would offer discounts. So little shops are already paying a premium even before we're asked to pay a license fee. It's also not just the cost of the fees, or the potential fees to representatives - it's the time I've spent trying to figure this out and get clear answers. It's been so ambiguous too - I hate ambiguity.

I don't even know who I can talk to about this to get advice. This may be a europe thing, but it affects everyone who wants to send to Europe. I'd have no issue with paying a fee, or a tax on my parcel, but I just do not understand why they have made it so infuriatingly complicated.

I only have a handful of EU counties that I send to now. I stopped sending to France this year as I wasn't going to pay for another year. It may end up with Germany being the only place I send to.

If it wasn't for this forum and all of you, I would not have known about this. When I talk to other businesses they just shrug their shoulders.

Re: SENDING PRODUCTS TO EU, Authorised Person issues

I stopped selling to the EU when we left the common market because the VAT was collected at delivery and caused too many issues.

Has that situation changed? Do I need to register for EU export etc... ?

And how do I reset were in the world I sell (Ive forgotten how to change that) :-)?

Re: SENDING PRODUCTS TO EU, Authorised Person issues

for all orders under 150 euros, approx £135, you Etsy now collects the VAT on purchase

... however, in the main eu countries, you have to register and pay their packaging laws,

and soon, there are local representative laws, but I haven't looked into them, it's already far too complicated

Greece and Austria already have local representative laws, and you have to fill the Greek form in, in greek

....

for shipping, remove everywhere else, and eu,

and add the countries you do want to sell to, 1-by-1 to your shipping profile
