My question is actually the following. My roommate has a t-shirt shop. Sometimes we use the same computer. She doesn't really use her shop anymore at all, only to check on orders. Is it against Etsy's TOS to start another t-shirt shop under the same IP address ? I am already running other shops unrelated to t-shirts.
Nope. You have to have a separate IP address. But you can add a second shop to your current one. Beware that T-shirts are a dime a dozen on Etsy, so you would have to have designs that are really unique to get many sales.
You can have the shop, no problem with sharing an IP unless something happens that one of you get shut down, it's likely the other shops connected to that IP will also be affected. That's the only issue with sharing an IP here but I can't find anything in the help centre, handbook or legal pages that expressly discusses any IP circumstances, even anything regarding the issue I mention above.
You might need to contact support and make sure, but I've been told before when I had two jewelry shops and it was allowed as they had different brands/markets. Etsy doesn't want someone operating two identical shops with identical product, but if your target market is a different audience, you should be fine.I know of a seller who has 8 shops, all printable invitation stores, but all of them are still up and running.
