Reply to messages that they are not user in Etsy

Hello!

How to reply to messages that they are not user in Etsy?

When I try to answer to some messages i get this text: "The username you have entered is not a valid Etsy user."

That means their account is no longer active.

Usually because etsy's removed them for spam (though not always)

It means that there is no way that can answer to them?

Were they wanting your email to complete a sale?

If so, it was spam/scam.  Do not reply even if you can.

If their account was removed right after they messaged you, that probably means Etsy deleted it, most likely because they were not genuine buyers, but scammers.  Did you read the message and then try to reply to it?  Did they say they had made a purchase in your shop and they were asked to enter the sellers' email to finish the payment?  If so, consider yourself lucky, you have dodged a bullet.  This scam has been doing the rounds of various marketplace sites, targeting new shops that are not familiar with how the site's processes work yet.  They are trying to get as much information from you as they can so they can access your shop account, and your bank accounts in many cases.

Thanks for the good information.  Actually two different people separately just asked if they can buy one the product and sent the link to the product. They didn't place the order. We didn't have any mail conversations because I couldn't answer them.

If they are scammers, so I am thankful that Etsy has already removed them.
