i am a new seller and my buyers can not pay for the item they purchased. once they add to cart and go to check out it asks them to request my email from me. i did for one buyer and he said i ,the seller will receive a letter from etsy to complete the transaction. how can buyers just check out without have to request my email?

Oh no!  You’ve fallen for a scam!
Etsy will never do this. It’s a scam that is happening to a lot of new sellers right now.

Re: Renee Le Guier

I'm sorry to say it's a SCAM!

The buyer does not need your email address to place an order.

If you get an email asking for your payment card details to confirm the sale then DON'T GIVE IT TO THEM! They are not Etsy Support.

Orders appear on your orders page automatically and then you just process the order, ship and mark as completed. Funds go directly to your shop payment account and are usually available for deposit after 3 days (for the first 90 days). Deposits are weekly (unless you choose otherwise) and also happen automatically - funds are paid into the bank account you have already set up.

That is the latest scam and they are a bit out of control. I have received it or variation of it over 50 times in the past month or so. It's definitely a scam and shoppers absolutely do not need your email address to make a purchase. If they sent you screenshots of etsy pages saying otherwise those are fake pages they created for their scam. See this thread for more info and links to photos of the fake pages.
