Refunded a sale, now cannot create a return label. Help!

How do I create a return label after I've cancelled the sale? Etsy says "Cannot create return label for this sale."

Just purchase one online from the postal service and email the label to the customer

I don't know how to create a label using Etsy shipping after you cancel.  To get the address, you can look back at the email you received when you got the order, or, on the Etsy receipt for the original shipping label if you purchased shipping on Etsy.  Once you have the address, you can create a label on another service like PirateShip.  You can then  take a screen shot of the label and send it to the buyer via Etsy convo.

It is possible to create a return label on PirateShip without linking it to an outgoing label/order. That way, you only pay for it if/when it's used. 

When creating the label, there's a checkbox near the bottom for "return label only" or some similar wording.
