Has anyone else noticed random vertical or horizontal lines showing up on the outer edges of their listing photos? The photos I use are professional - so definately not anything that I'm uploading. Also it's not on every listing - shame we can't post pics on here.
@AmoriGiftStudio Lol! I'm not seeing any on your front page at all - crazy! I'll keep popping back to see how things are going and I'll keep an eye on other shops as well.
Great - we'll reconvene soon then!
@GlitteramaCrafts I've found another clue! If you try moving the listing with the lines to another page, the lines will disappear. The lines seem to be for the listing space, rather than the listing itself.
Got ya!! I wondered if it could be the space rather than the photos, especially when most of them are on the 3rd photo in the line. So it's actually the background behind the photos.
It's because your images aren't the exact size dimensions to fill Etsy's template, so the part not covered shows as a white line. 2000x2000 or 2000x1500 (I think, or was it 1600? - it's a 5:4 ratio for rectangular pictures) will cover it.
It's not a white line that is showing. I understand what you are saying about image size, but it's not that.
One way to test if it is the *defect* is in the image or the way it is being displayed is to download it and open the downloaded image in a photo editing program to see if the defects are still there.
That was a great idea to cross something else of the list of possibilities. The lines aren't there when I re-downloaded the image @BagmakerSupply @GlitteramaCrafts . So the images themselves aren't affected. It's got to be to do with the space that Etsy outlines for the listing photos. I've come to the conclusion the outlines are bleeding through randomly for some reason. They're tech team should realise this quite quickly I would think!
Well, this is new for me, this week. Not all my listings. Using Chrome. Color corresponds to the color of the item so it looks matchy-matchy. I hate it!
@AmoriGiftStudio yours are on the second page only. @GlitteramaCrafts you still have them, just not on front.
Did you guys just learn to live with it?
