Random lines on edges of listing photos

Has anyone else noticed random vertical or horizontal lines showing up on the outer edges of their listing photos? The photos I use are professional - so definately not anything that I'm uploading. Also it's not on every listing - shame we can't post pics on here.

I haven't noticed this so far, but I've only been open since Thurs.
Maybe your photos are already this size, but it is recommended that photos are at least 2,000 pixels with a 5:4 ratio.

Thanks for that @ChillwolfArt- it does seem random, On photos of same size, some have it and some don't! You've only been open since Thursday - over 700 sales???!!!!

Yes, I opened Thurs. night. The sales amount is since 2011.  I was busy Fri. & Sat. (Repeat Customers).  Then on Sun. thru Tues., everything went dead.

@AmoriGiftStudio  :  If your photos were not corrupted during upload or Etsy resizing them it is possible that the issue is local to you. Have you tried looking the photos with a different browser to see if the same photo has the same distortion? Or do a <ctrl><f5> in your browser to make sure that you do not have a corrupted version cached?

Looking at the responses @BagmakerSupply I see it's not just me - and the same on Chrome and Edge browsers. Problem must lie with Etsy I think.

Yes @AmoriGiftStudio I have recently noticed this with some of my listings too.  They are not new listings. In fact some of them have probably been there for 5 years or more.  No idea what's causing it as I've prepared my photos in the same way for the last 9 years and never seen this before.

Just the other day, I saw faint thin gray lines around a couple of photos on my front page of listings but not all. I don’t see them now….

Yes, I noticed it the other day. I only see it when using Edge as a browser.

@SilverandEarth  I've just looked in Chrome and lines are still there unfortunately. I can see they are on your page too. It's a mystery!

@IndustrialBlonde That's interesting. I don't think that's what's happened on mine. I'm using up some deactivated listings, so will now monitor if it might be to do with that - the plot thickens!

I'm not seeing them in yours or anyone else's shops. I'd say it was maybe the browser, but I'm currently using chrome and I see you're seeing them there as well. Possibly relates to your physical screen size and/or some other setting for how it's displaying the page.

Yes, I think it is a browser issue (and possibly a monitor issue). Every browser "interprets" coding and displays things differently.

@audreytherese It's only on some listings so I honestly think it's an Etsy bug of some sort. That's good that you're not seeing it though!

I've just checked my shop again (I'm on Chrome by the way) and there are even more of the lines now.  I'm seeing at least 3 on every page of my shop (some have more than 10 on a page).  Some of them are along the right side edge of the photos and others are on the bottom edge.  But....I've now noticed that all of the lines are not the same colour.  Some are grey, but others are the same colour as the items in the photo, for example, I have a listing for Turquoise Daisy Cabochons and the line on the right hand edge of the pic is turquoise.  The same thing with some bright pink faux druzy cabs - the edge is pink.

@GlitteramaCrafts I've noticed some different colours too! And the same where some are vertical and some horizontal. I went on Etsy chat and asked them to report it to the tech team - with a link to this post, so they can see it's not just me. If I get a reply I will let you all know, but I guess it could be a while!

@AmoriGiftStudio   I looked at your Shop again today. And didn't see the lines on any photos (Chrome, Windows 10, desktop computer).  But I know we all see things differently and who knows what others see.

This is just so odd. If it wasn't so random I could accept it was some setting that we all may have in common, but that would also have to be on all listings in our shops wouldn't it? I do hope Etsy come back with something!

@AmoriGiftStudio  I just checked your shop and I can see them all in your shop too.  And I can see the coloured lines too.  A lot of yours are like mine - the vertical line comes after the 3rd item in the row.

ETA - I've been checking random shops and I'm getting the same thing from all of them.  I've also noticed that in the majority of shops I checked, the front page of their shop is not affected, and that they are usually from Page 2 onwards with (again) the majority of the vertical lines on the right hand side of the 3rd picture in the row.

@GlitteramaCrafts I've got lines on page 1 - just to throw a spanner in the works! I'm going to check daily to see if the lines move from one listing to another.
