Customer placed an order by mistake, contacted me same day. I canceled and marked the order for refund. Order got canceled.
Customer called me and said they did not get the refund. Looked on my current statement and it refunded then got reversed because they say its 120 days old. It was placed today. Anybody have a fix for this?
That is an odd one. Other than contacting Etsy, I don't know what else to suggest, sorry. It's strange they would say a recent order was 120 days old. Hope someone else jumps in.

Yes, but that would not affect a Refund for an Order Number.
That sort of error message can show for PayPal only shops - it's an incorrect message because it should just say that the refund needs to happen through PayPal.
You're not a PayPal only shop so it's strange that you're seeing it.
I would suggest checking that your credit card in your billing is correct and not expired. If you didn't have enough available funds in your payment account then Etsy would be trying to take the funds from your credit card.
If that doesn't solve it, I would suggest trying again after midnight New York time and see if it goes through then.
And if problems persist, contact Etsy Support via the help center.
Etsy's payment system accepts Paypal. Is it possible the customer paid with Paypal to Etsy's paypal account? If so, it could be a problem with Etsy's Paypal account.
