I received a message from a potential buyer saying she couldn't get through the purchase process because there was an error in shipping. I looked at the listing and saw that the weight was missing. That's odd because we can't publish listings with the weight missing. I added it and tried to save and got a red box with the message "There was a problem saving your changes. Contact Etsy Support and make sure to include this error code in your message: Error code: xxxxxxxxxx" a bunch of letters and numbers (different each time). I contacted support where I was told to empty my cache, clear my cookies, etc. I did all that and even used different devices and browsers with all the same issues. I even deactivated the listing, copied it and tried to start over. It still wouldn't work. When I was successful, it would make the new listing and disappear the weight once again. I made sure there was no alt text in the pictures (a suggestion from before when this happened several months ago). Does anyone have a suggestion? Etsy support has "elevated this", but it's been hours and I could really use a sale right now. We are trying to recover from hurricane Beryl over here.
I didn’t adjust the box size. My items are already boxed so I have to put the exact size in. I don’t have many shipping profiles and all of my listings are one of two. This is just odd.
I wonder if its a site error because I have a digital product with the same code error
I think you should adjust the size of the box down to get it to take and when it is sold you can change to the actual size when you purchase the label. If for some reason you can't change it on Etsy labels at time of sale you can on Pirateship. Price should be close enough for what they charge the customer and what the actual is. Would get you unstuck hopefully because it sounds like box size is the issue.
I’ve tried everything including new listing , newly saved picture with different box size and completely new shipping profile and the result is the same error and Etsy getting a new listing fee. I was able to sell the one item I had an issue with, but what about all the others that this happen to and I’m NOT aware of? All my listings were fine until they weren’t. (Edited for typo)
I am having the exact same issue but with a digital file! Have you resolved yours yet?
did you get to fix the problem? I just got the same red box when trying to post. Costumer service just wants me to do all what you just did.
@FULLofGRACEshirts @TheWoodenCanvasCo It’s still not fixed. They messaged me again yesterday to tell me they’re still trying to find the issue. I responded with a thank you and that I’m aware that there are so many others with the same issue and asked why they aren’t addressing it publicly. I double I’ll get an answer to that particular question.
I'm having the same problem.
We had the same issue with either updating existing listings, renewing listings, or trying to create new listings. It had nothing to do with shipping for us. When we contacted Etsy they said its known issue and they are working on it. It took WEEKS for it to get resolved. I think they have many people experiencing this issue and have to correct it one profile at a time or something, so it's a wait. However we did find in the interim that we could post or renew listings through the app just fine. Just not the desktop version of Etsy.
@MrandMrsAZ Same here for some things. I can renew listings and create some new listings, but not all. I've tried desktop and app and it doesn't matter. I think you're right and they have to go through and correct everyone's profile. I just wish they wouldn't try having me waste time with trying the same things over and over that don't work to fix it.
I am having the same issue and have tried everything. Even creating a completely new listing. And I'm still having the same issue
@KustomfromtheHeart I'm still waiting for a fix. They keep coming back with the same "solutions" to try.
Same with me. I found a temporary workaround: my issue has to do with disabled variations. Example:
A listing with following options: color Blue and Green and material Metal and Wood, SKUs changing with every variation:
Blue - Metal - sku1
Blue - Wood - sku2
Green - Metal - sku3
Green - Wood - sku4
If you disable variation sku1 AND sku2 or sku3 AND sku4, you will see the error message and not be able to save the listing. Workaround: enable all the variations you need and delete all others that you don't need instead of disabling them!
I'm still having this issue. Like I posted on the other thread, this has gone on far too long. I've lost hope it will ever be fixed. So sad, I hate to lose the favorites and views/sales history (not to mention extra listing fees), but copying the listings and editing those looks like the only work-around. Just plain wrong!
