Dunno how long this has been there, never seen it before but on desktop, going to the bottom of one of my listings shows
Features: Handmade, Made to order |
Cost to ship: Free |
Returns accepted: No |
Ships from: Victorville, California |
category: Ornaments & Accents |
But in the "ACTUAL" ships from in the shipping info shows "ships from china" where my printers for said product are located which is the CORRECT ships from info (i'm a graphic designer, design products and I list production partners). This stupid "summary" which wasn't auto hidden (though the shipping info WAS hidden under the click arrow) decided to just automatically use my shop location as my ship from even though they ALREADY have a ships from portion of this listing. Why in the world would they not use the info from the exact same field in another part of the listing?
If you are gonna try even harder to prevent people from actually reading descriptions or shipping info, the least you could do with this very limited set of information is actually make sure it's accurate, especially if the info is already present on the page! But hey, maybe the programmer didn't see it because etsy hid the shipping info under a stupid arrow you have to click.
Looks like whoever wrote the code for that feature is using the shop location instead of ships from field. They need to fix that right away or it’s going to cause lots of problems.
I just found the same thing for shops that don’t use POD. I think it’s great but only if accurate.
I just mention POD sellers because they are the most likely to have a ship from location that's not from home. I assume everyone could have this, but POD sellers will be directly affected since a majority do not live in the same city as their production partners. Shipping from home (typical etsy crafters) will match because the ships from and shop location are the same.
Also simply ships from (location) doesn't explain how long it could take, people will be less likely to check the full shipping info, if they are presented with this while etsy hides the important info. Shipping times are as important if not more important than where it's coming from.

I think you should repost under technical issues.
Dang it... i actually thought i did. hopefully a mod comes in and moves this to the right forum lol.
You should alert your OP and ask the mod to move it if you haven't already.
Yes, I am also seeing this item summary on my prints and yes, the ships from is wrong. Good catch. This will cause trouble if people scroll that far down and actually see it. Or if Etsy moves it up higher in the listing.
This has still not been fixed!
Can we get this fixed? This is a major mistake!
I saw this on my own listings today, for the first time. But it's redundant to the Item Details that are up at the top Right of page. It just repeats the same thing (Materials, etc.) Why put the same information in two spots?
