Oh my goodness, my Christmas stockings look like fat squares. Hope they fix whatever that is soon. I know I can’t get good photos, but they looked way better than whatever Etsy did to them now.
Yep, seeing this too. Looks like any product photo that is not square resolution is getting autoscaled to have square resolution. What a pain. Please revert this change Etsy, what is the purpose of this?

I completely agree about sellers revenues down. All these changes are messing up things and not in a good way, even though they want to do marketing speak and make it sound good.
No one asked for this and all we want to do is sell our products without constant interference.
I just put a message up on my shop page telling customers what they are seeing and apologized for. Also said that MANY Etsy seller are having the same problem and that we are hoping Etsy will fix this asap! COME ON ETSY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mine are stretched too - but it's only the ones where I adjusted the thumbnail image in the listing manager. My photos are all square format already. Sigh! One thing after another!
It didn't happen in my shop until I used the new listing form to adjust the thumnbnail on one of my listings. So frustrating! I can't stand the new listing form as it, and now this? Why fix what isn't broke? The old listing form worked great!
I noticed it only seems to be affecting the ratio in your shop thumbnails, when I search for any of my listings the thumbnail looks okay. Which gives me hope it is a glitch and I won't spend the next week resizing every thumbnail I have.
I bet it’s because they’re jamming that inane video quip into everyone’s photos. In trying to push videos on sellers, they’re typically screwing up everything else.
