I see other sellers are missing photos. Mine are there but all very distorted and weird looking. Anyone else with that problem?

Some of mine are distorted. I visited one of the listings to see if the main image was square. It was not. So I changed it to square. It did not take the distortion away.

The distorted photos are horrific, fresh H8ll is right! Hope they fix it. I really don't have the time to retake my photos. So many other things to do. These distorted photos are really not going to help with sales. I wonder if they are just trying to kill off our shops?

It looks like the only ones that are distorted in my shop are the listings that I have not had time to re-take photos as square.

No, not in my shop. Most of my newer listings are square and the exact dimensions Etsy asked for. And they are all squished and elongated.

Try editing your photo but clicking the crop image on your primary photo and then choose the square from all the choices Etsy gives you.  I did it and it worked.  So no need to retake photos.

Then I checked the same listing in search results and it's a normal image.

I just went into my shop and edited/cropped a very distorted primary photo choosing the square that Etsy provides and it worked.  The image looks normal.  Maybe everyone knows this.  I did not.

I'm tech challenged.  What do you mean by the square that Etsy provides?

@frenchfeatherdesigns

Yeah, please elaborate, as I see no such square.

After reading your post I tried to edit one of my thumbnails, but the only option I see is to zoom in or away.

Yeah, that's not really an option for those of us with hundreds of listings (400+) with about 8 photos per item. It wasn't broken before, so sellers shouldn't have to fix it!

Most of my newer listings are perfect squares and the EXACT dimensions Etsy told us to use. Yet, those listings are still distorted. I'm not about to start fiddling with their cropping tool. They made this mess and now it is up to them to fix it !!!!!!!!!!!

If it's not a perfect square, it's distorted. I think they broke something in the "this listing doesn't have a video" test.

My photos are already a perfect square and they’re still distorted.  Some are squashed and some elongated.

My photos are also! Some are distorted horizontally and some vertically! Never had this happen in my 13 years of Etsy!

Yes, I have been selling on Etsy since 2010 and I don't remember this ever happening before either.

Why is Etsy not responding?

For now I would do nothing.  I don't want to start fixing if they are also in the middle of fixing.  Some communication from Etsy would be nice right now.

Tiny, squished squares.. I can't even make out what I'm looking at, like an optical illusion.  Ugh.. I'm already annoyed that my shop star rating, which is 5 Stars, when doing a Search for products, and an item from my shop is listed, my shop stars show up as 4.8!!  Etsy "Help" said they would get back to me, but I never got a response.  No support.

It is no wonder sales are down for so many of us. Especially sellers of actual handmade and actual vintage. They just keep mucking about and making a mess of everything that worked, while never fixing anything that doesn't.

Oh for ***** sake, I see it when looking in Seller's Shop Front. Thumbnail photos look like they are squished in horizontally (from side to side).

I thought my laptop was messing them up, then checked my mobile... Can't imagine getting anymore sales today while they're like this!
