Clearing your cookies etc. probably necessitates you signing back into Etsy - that would be more likely to clear you out of the test than the cache thing. It's a test. Not everyone will see it in your shop. Etsy does user-based testing - if you are in the test (I'm not) - you will see it in all shops.
Ahh yes! I did have to sign back in after clearing my cache. Although I've now noticed another change. Boxes around all my reviews, there was just single lines between each one yesterday now all of them are in their own box.
I just checked they buyers app on my mobile and all of our photos looked cropped, enlarged, cut off as well! It does look like we have no idea how to take photos. We have been taking photos for our Etsy shop since 2012! Everything was fine yesterday morning and by the evening our shop looks like a young child did our photography. Is it a glitch, is it a test? Is is temporary , is it permanant? Do I have have to re-do photos for 800+ listings???? Support has no anwers to these questions and was of zero assistance.
I cleared my cache (past 7 days) and signed back into Etsy and so far photos are back to the way I had them ON MY LAPTOP.
However, in the buyer app, my photos are still cropped, enlarged and cut off.
Etsy making such changes (or even taking their time to fix such a massive 'glitch') is unbelieveable - especially at a time when many sellers are already feeling a drop in sales and the added stress. The folks that constantly make changes to Etsy are obviously not sellers - they appear to have no clue what sellers need and how their changes affect sellers.
Hey EarthAuraCreations Just had a look at the seller app, and it's cropped again on there for me too. Only the main photo though if i swipe the rest of the photos are normal, just photo 1 is cropped in. So strange!
I am also experiencing issues with my main display listing photos being zoomed in and showing as 1:1 ratio when they were not designed or intended to be. It is strange because when i go to edit and re-arrange my listing orders it reverts to original dimensions and previews normal but when I save it goes back to the zoomed in distorted ratio viewing. Issue is only when viewing my store and on my store page. On search results listings show normal. Would love shop page listing view issue sorted sooner than later however.
I cleared my cache and cookies and re-signed into Etsy - for now, my photos look normal there. HOWEVER, in the Etsy Buyer app - all of my photos are still improperly cropped, enlarged, cut off! So this is what the BUYER SEES in the Etsy Buyer app And, when you scroll throught the photos, EVERY photos AND video is cropped It looks terrible. Just spoke with support (again) and they eluded to it being something to do with the new Etsy seller app (which I don't even use ) and they offered no help but said they would pass on the information to tech staff. I recommend everyone experience to send Etsy support a message. The only work on issues where they receive many complaints. Its a pretty big deal to ruin the entire look of a shop!
Did you also check to see how your listings look on the Etsy Buyer app ? This is what Buyers see. I also cleared my cache and photos look okay in my shop but the Etsy buyer app is still showing my listings with improperly cropped photos. Looks terrible.
Its pretty frustrating isn't it? I spoke with support again this morning and they eluded to it being the new 'etsy upgrades' to the etsy seller app - uggghhh - I don't even use the mobile seller app. Support said they would pass on my frustration but I gathered that this is an 'upgrade.'
I don't use the buyers app, but I have looked at the sellers new one and the pictures are square and enlarged, while in the old one (I still use the old app too) everything is normal.
Etsy support told me today that this new cropping has to do with Etsy 'upgrades' wih the new Etsy seller app Quite an upgrade if I have to re-do my entire shop. He eluded to this being not a 'glitch' but a permanent change but he assured me I didn't have to re-do 800+ listings ? I cannot have my first photo cut off Etsy . Very frustrating.
I can't believe another change, as if we didn't have enough. I recently found the right formula for me for the new thumbnail sizes and now it's all over again. In the horrendous new edit version of listings I see that now the minimum size of the thumbnails must be 2000px on the short side. If I'm not mistaken before it was 2000px on the long side.Or at least, I did so the new previews and it was ok.
The thought of changing 800+ listings is discouraging to say the least. Etsy does not care about its sellers. Change, change, change - upgrade, upgrade upgrade - on and on and on. Unbelieveable.
I guess I should chime in and be on the record about this garbage. It's garbage. Just like the new listing page. Double garbage. Oddly enough, I only see this new format on my desktop. Laptop shows old format. Another laptop (Mac) shows original format. Phone shows old format. Editing page does not show the new format, so I cannot even re-crop for the new format. That being said, not all of my photos even allow for a proper re-crop, and I am not shooting 1500 items again. So I guess my shop will just look like crap until all this stuff clears out. Thanks Etsy!
I'm seeing it on my shop home page on Silk browser (on Amazon tablet) which is not signed in. Does anyone know if this is happening on the app? (sorry, I havn't read all the replies yet)
