Phantom notifications...yet again

Here we go again.  More phantom notifications.  No messages, no sales (nothing pending), no emails from Etsy.  And, yet again, I have had one new notification up in the corner all day long.

Etsy, can you please stop with these?  There is nothing there!

From what others have been posting about Messages (things that appear to be a test); what you're describing most likely could be a glitchy thing. As long as you are using a browser (and not the App), and you don't see any Messages which require a Response (or Mark as Spam), I wouldn't worry about it right now. True, when the dot stays in place, it looks like something you need to address.

It FINALLY disappeared, but it took hours.  It's not a buyer message--it's a shop notification.  I have to keep checking on it though to make sure it's not a message from a buyer.

This is on my desktop.  It happens about once a month.
