3 days ago I dropped off 5 Etsy orders at my local post office. They were open when I did, and I’ve never had a problem like this before. But now those 5 orders still haven’t updated anything. I’m worried all 5 are lost and I’ll have to refund so much
Did you have them scanned at the time? Just dropping off is not something I would recommend unless you are absolutely sure your post office scans.
You can try asking for updates on the USPS site. Try the tracking number on USPS. Sometimes Etsy does not update. Check USPS to see if your packages are moving.
Don't assume they are lost unless a buyer contacts you.
This has happened to me several times. Each time I freak out. They likely just missed their acceptance scan and will be show up "delivered" without any other scans. However, 5 days seems to be a long time without a single delivery. I'd contact your local PO where you dropped them off.
I just had something similar happen. I dropped off a package on October 6th. Tracking showed it was at the 2nd transfer destination for over a week and now it's reverted to pre-transit. The customer is still reporting they haven't received their package.
You can call your local post office where you dropped the packages off and ask to speak with the supervisor.
That happens to me all the time. I've learned to not freak out and just wait it out. 99% of the time they eventually get scanned and delivered. It's less stressful for me to not think about it unless a buyer contacts me.
I have an amazing story about the post office if anyone cares to read it. First I want to say that Saturday was the last straw with my carrier. After 20+ years selling online and having my orders picked up, I'll be dropping them off at the post office on my way to or from work from now on. I scheduled a pickup for 7 packages on Saturday and put them outside in plain view. I saw my regular carrier walk up to my door and deliver my mail (my mailbox is attached to my house). An hour or so later my husband was outside and noticed my packages were still sitting there. The carrier didn't take them!! I immediately called the post office and complained (they were closed by then but someone answered) and they made him come back. Well, and here's the good part, one of those packages was heading to Hawaii from Massachusetts. Now remember, it was mailed on Saturday, two days ago. It's out for delivery today - 5,000 miles away! That never happens!
