Very grateful of an help.
Tonight my partner was on his Etsy on his mobile (not the app) as he always does, and clicked 'Payment account.'
It asked him to log back in. Put in correct password and it then asked for an authentification code. He has never used an authenticator app for etsy and has never set this up. He now cannot get into the account and doesn't know what to do now as has orders to fulfil. Could not even post in the forum without logging in which is why I am asking on his behalf.
Please has anyone had this problem and knows how to solve it?
Thank you!

Did he set up two factor authentication at some point? That is what it is asking for. Did he set one up with his phone? Does his phone have some sort of feature for this?
I Received a Security Code Email from Etsy – Etsy Help Did he check his email for a code? It might be related to this.
He may have to ask Etsy.
Thank you for your reply.
No he never set anything up, just always used a password. No idea why it has suddenly done this!
We have sent them an email. Just hoping it will not take them long to reply.
Check your shop front page, especially the seller photo and make sure nothing has changed.
If you did not set this up, someone may have gotten into your account and changed things
Please help me too. I have the same problem!
I have the same issue, I never set it up or have any backup codes, I’m still logged in on my phone but I can’t disable the Authenticator since I don’t have it set up
@vibeguard: Not all security code requests are two factor authorization related. https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/115015410188-I-Can-t-Sign-In-to-My-Account
