When shipping First Class flats, Etsy charges my account $1.83, but the postage printed on the label is $1.63. I've shipped 3 of these today and all have a .20 overcharge.
This isn't a technical issue.
That extra 20 cents is what Etsy charges you to be able to print those 1st class/letter and flat labels and for Pitney Bowes "delivery confirmation so it costs more on Etsy than it does at the PO.
It's been like this for years, at least since 2021.
Plus this delivery confirmation qualifies for the star seller badge.
If you went to the post office those 1st class letters/flats would NOT qualify for the SSB.
Plus USPS rates went up at 12:01 am this morning.
I know rates went up, but the amount I pay has always been the same as what is shown on the label.
I know it's been like this at least since 2021.
Maybe you haven't noticed it before.
If you don't want to pay the extra 20 cents to print the label through Etsy, then you can always go to your PO but if you do this, those 1st class flats will "not" qualify for the star seller program.
Here's a thread from 2021 discussing this 20 cent extra that Etsy charges.
Pitney Bowes is allowed to charge for making this possible. Flats and letters normally do not get tracking (delivery confirmation) PB makes it possible
