Orders to Canada tracking numbers from Asendia

Hi everyone,

I have read couple of posts on the same issue i'm experiencing now and the etsy support team is giving a run for my money.

I have 5 orders that supposedly are missing tracking information. There are all orders shipped to Canada with Asendia.

I have manually checked them all and can confirm that all 5 orders have valid tracking numbers on Etsy.

Has anyone else had this issue and how did you resolve it?

This is obviously impacting my star seller rating.

I am a bit confused. YourShop is in Canada so why areyou usingGlobal Shippingwith Ascendia?

@Shopgalor: Do the actual orders show as at least "in transit"? What happens if you click on the tracking number link on the actual order?

We do not use Asendia, but when we ship internationally via a similar "partner" we generally eventually get three tracking numbers: USPS tracking number for delivery to the partner, the partner's tracking number, and the last mile courier's tracking number. So which tracking number is being entered on the order? And is that shipper recognized by AfterShip (Etsy's third party vendor for tracking and tracking number validation)?

An unsupported shipping company or invalid / unverified tracking number equals shipped without tracking.

@BagyBags all the orders show as in "pre - transit" but 4 of them have already been delivered between april 25th and june 3rd.

The 5th one has not been delivered yet. On its way i guess.

When i click on the tracking numbers on the actual orders, it takes me to the Asendia site where i have to manually enter the number to check the status.

The 5th one show the tracking information directly without me entering the number on Asendia's site. I guess because it's really in " pre transit".

I hope this clarifies my case.

@Shopgalor: That explains it even if it is not going to be a satisfactory to you explanation. Obviously AfterShip cannot automatically verify the tracking number so the order is considered as shipped without verifiable tracking. And not even sure if Ascendia is a supported carrier.

But apparently you are saying that your POD company uses Ascendia? Has this happened before? Since you're saying that you have checked these orders and can see the tracking then I assume your shop & your POD are still synched?

No this has never happened before. I have shipped few orders to Canada using the same shipping company without any issue.

Up to few days ago, everything was ok on my tracking and Star Seller rating then suddenly Etsy shows that 5 orders have missing tracking information.

I would recommend NOT buying labels from etsy.

I recommend using one of the following instead:

1.  Pirateship Simple Export - https://www.pirateship.com/simple-export-rate  -- super easy, digital customs forms, pretty affordable.  Limitation 4lb max.

2. Easyship Flat Export -  https://www.easyship.com/couriers/flat-export  - Similar to pirateship, a few cents cheaper, digital customs forms, not quite as simple a platform in my opinion, but way more versatile.  -  No 4lb max, plus they have way more carrier/speed options that are sometimes cheaper and  better than the flat export.  (this option is my preference tbh)

In general we only use platforms that sync with etsy and send etsy the tracking info directly.  That way all orders get tracking when they are shipped without any effort from us.

I hate to tell you this and the entire group. 

Pirateship is NOW USING Asendia.  I called them and told them I don't want it, So they removed it from my account and charge me RETAIL RATE TO Canada from the USA

Then new month started and their system reverted me back to ASENDIA.  I am so upset about this. It was very sneaky on their behalf

I know. They are still using a higher level and better tracked version of asendia than Etsy is, and at a much better price

But you will notice that I give two options that are not Etsy labels and I specifically recommend the one that wasnt pirateship.

Easyship flat export uses a mix of carriers, but they also give you a bunch of budget international carriers to choose from if you want to be the one picking.  OrangeDS, APG, Skypost, etc are all good alternatives that are usually faster and sometimes cheaper. 

Pirateship treated us well for years and is fine for domestic. But their simple export is slower than I like and limited because of the 4lb and $400 caps.   Its nice to have other options.

I use Pirateship for international orders and was surprised to see that Asendia was the middleman. But for some reason, all my Pirateship labels seems to progress nicely.

I have also noticed that Asendia seems to have improved ... and their web site is greatly improved. The first time I had an international order go through Ascendia (label purchased on Etsy) ... it was impossible to get any tracking information. The last time I needed to check on a status of an international order in Ascendia, I was able to look up the details. (Label purchased on Pirateship).

I have Asendia baggage ... but my experiences in the last year or so with Ascendia have been just fine.

Thank you all for the pointers. My POD provider is synched with Etsy and I have never had this issue before with many orders shipped to Canada from the US using Asendia. This issue appeared out of the blue two days ago.

I can't wrap my head around it. Why was it working all this time and stopped? Surely something changed either on Etsy side or the print provider side. I have a case opened with both. Etsy and my print provider are pointing fingers at each other for now (lol).

As of now, I have just given up on this whole star rating thing and focusing on creating more quality designs to grow my store.

I am late to this feed but I am facing the same issue where Printful is using Asendia and the tracking upoads, but then on Etys even though the tracking number is shown it does not update. I just ran into an issue where due to the Canadian Postal strike a customer didn't get their package and Etsy refunded them and said it did not qualify for the Protection Program because the tracking "was not input" even though it is literally right there. I am trying to talk to Printful about this automation issue or figure out why they heck this is happening because now I have lost a significant amount of money over this issue.
