Hi all,
I made two sales , and they were both processed and delivered on time.
One of them is still on pre-transit despite I was waiting for 4 days to change to delivered as it shows on the website of my carrier service , but still no sync on Etsy.
What should I do ?
I appreciate your help.
@Filamentine you can contact Etsy, provide the order number, tracking link and they will manually adjust this to delivered in your dashboard, if the parcel has been delivered.
As for future issues with POSTNL tracking.
When you input the tracking details, choose POSTNL for national deliveries in the Netherlands, and choose "POSTNL international 3S" for any international orders.
You will have to check the order 24 hrs after dispatch, you may find that the carrier has automatically changed from POSTNL international 3s to POSTNL in the order section. Click edit tracking, and put it back to POSTNL international 3S, this will now stick and pick up the tracking within 24hrs.
This glitch has been going on for several years, and after countless talks with ETSY, I gave up and this worked for me for several years to keep my tracking and updates accurate
Did it get sent tracked delivery? If not then it can stay like that forever on occasion I have found, which is one of the reasons i moved to always tracked deliveries a while back. However - as long as you shipped on time then that is the main thing. A lack of sync showing delivered isn't going to affect any of your stats as far as I am aware and your customer will clearly be happy if they have received it regardless of the etsy status
Hi , thanks for you reply. And yes I did tracked delivery as I did for the other order… This is why I was wondering..
Don't rely on Etsy to have the latest information. If you checked the website of your carrier, that is the most reliable.
Does the customer have their order? Is the customer happy? Thats all that really matters. If you need delivery confirmation, use tracked mail (although it still doesn't guarantee the postal worker will do the final scan).
I have lots of orders that were delivered years ago still showing in transit. That status is very often wrong. It has no importance, as you (and your customer) can see the real status on the tracking of the carrier.
@Filamentine: An order still in "pre transit" often means that the tracking information AS ENTERED cannot be validated. What happens if you click on the tracking number link on the actual order? If it opens the courier's tracking page and shows the scan history then you have proof that the tracking information was entered correctly.
I Do not worry about it.. I just looked I have about 15 of them saying Pre-Transit as far back as 2014. I find that Etsy tracking is not reliable a lot of the time and actually going to your mail providers web site is the correct one. All of my Pre-transit ones have feedback left on them so clearly my customers got their items.

Very nice , thanks a lot for these information and for taking the time to explain!
You are very welcome @Filamentine
Did you check the tracking number? Is it correct? Did you enter the tracking number the day you shipped. You need to enter tracking numbers the same day you ship. Not the next day or later. When it says pre-transit Etsy takes that to mean the item was not accepted by the shipper.
If you have determined that the item is tracking, you can ask Etsy to fix. Also Etsy uses Aftership. If your service is not listed, then it is another issue. If you are using PostNL make sure that is selected. If the drop down glitches, try to fix it, If it won't contact Etsy.
