This has hapened to me 3 or 4 times now. I don't receive an order mail in my inbox sometimes and when I go to my shop from times to times there's an order already delayed. This last time an order before christmas appeared some days ago. Etsy keeps insisting that my mail server is the problem. How come if some orders I receive the mails and others don't. Buyer is furious, and it's right to be. I've contacted Etsy the other times this problem occured but this time there's no chat available or even a mail for contact. What's happening with Etsy? They are runing my shop. For the first time I got a one star review saying item payed nad not sent. Another time they suspended my account and even after reporting the problem they didn't put ok. Thinking seriously in leaving Etsy.
No matter if the problem is on Etsy's end or your email provider, it's a good idea for sellers to log into their shops at least once a day.
You only log in to your shop from time to time???
You really need to log in at least once a day to see if you have orders. Never rely on email. I check the email I use only for Etsy maybe once a month or so. I get everything I need from the Seller Dashboard and rarely need to use email.
While you may be correct that you aren't getting emails, Etsy is also correct in saying, nicely, it's not their fault you don't check into your shop. Etsy likes active shops with engaged owners. If you are looking in from time to time, that's not active and Etsy is correct in their actions.
Sorry. I know that is not what you wanted to hear.
Emails from Etsy have been intermittent for me - sometimes I get emails, and sometimes I don't.
Looking at my mailserver logs shows why - my mailserver is showing a "550 Invalid sender" error for some Etsy emails, which means my mailserver is checking with the Etsy mailserver if the sender email address is valid, and the Etsy mailserver is saying it's not valid.
Etsy isn't the only one with this issue - I have seen similar issues with emails from PayPal, eBay, and various other places.
