Ongoing Issues After Switching to Etsy Payments with Payoneer — 9 Days Without Solution

Hello dear Etsy sellers,

I'm reaching out because I honestly don't know what else to do anymore.
Nine days ago, I transitioned my shop to Etsy Payments with Payoneer, following all the required steps. Since then, none of my customers have been able to complete their orders — all payment attempts end with an error.

I have contacted Etsy support multiple times, but each time they simply say: "Please wait." My case was escalated, but after so many days, there’s still no solution, no updates, and no clear timeframe.

Meanwhile, customers continue messaging me, worried because they cannot place orders. It’s heartbreaking to watch them leave without being able to help.

Here’s what I see in my Shop Manager:

A yellow banner still prompts me to join Etsy Payments, even though I already completed the transition.

When I try to manage payment settings, my bank details appear saved, but when I click "Save and Continue," a red error banner pops up — with no explanation, no error code.

It feels like the system thinks my setup is incomplete, but I have done everything right.
I even contacted Payoneer directly, and they confirmed that everything on their side is correct — I am fully able to receive payments.

I also asked Etsy support if I could open a temporary shop to continue working, but they advised against it because of the unresolved issue on my current account.

I live in Georgia (the country) and have spoken with other sellers from Kazakhstan who faced similar problems after transitioning to Etsy Payments.

This situation is emotionally exhausting for me.
For over five years, I’ve put my whole heart into my handmade shop. Etsy is my only source of income, and now everything is just... frozen. I feel helpless, stuck, and completely lost.

If anyone has experienced something similar — did your shop eventually recover?
Is there still hope after so much time?

Thank you so much to anyone who reads this and takes the time to share their experience. Your support would mean the world to me right now.

I put one of your items in my cart but it says you don't ship to the UK.  So I changed it to USA and all the payment options are available so people from the USA can definitely buy.  If they can buy then others should be able to buy too.  Check your shipping settings to see if you have excluded countries like the UK (do you usually ship to the UK?).

Thank you so much for taking the time to check that for me!
I should have explained it better — this issue actually happens at the very final step of checkout.

After one of my customers told me about the problem, I asked a friend from another country to try placing an order too. He tried using two different bank cards and Google Pay, but unfortunately, the payment still wouldn’t go through.

This is exactly what my customers are describing as well:
After entering their payment information and shipping address, when they try to confirm the order, they get an error message on a yellow background:
"Oops! There was a problem sending your order. Please try again. If the problems persist, please contact support."

@MilistariJewelry  I'm in the US. I added one of your items to my cart and all payment methods are available.

Even though the payment methods appear available at first, when customers try to complete the order — after entering all their payment and shipping details — they get an error message on a yellow background:

Some of my customers even reached out to Etsy support themselves, but unfortunately, they were told that the issue seems to be on my side.

I'm in the US and just added to cart.  The payment options were available to me.

It might just be a display issue with the banner.

You are only selling to your country and two other countries.

However I wonder if the problem is your shipping from the US.  You are using a POD?  I see no indication of that.  I don't know if that may be interfering with purchasing.  It could be we can purchase but I don't know about how your funds end up in Payoneer with using a US pod.

Are you using chat or email to converse with Etsy?  I recomment email and use that email to reply back that you still need help and that you need someone with Etsy and Payoneer expertise to help you.

Re: Ongoing Issues After Switching to Etsy Payments with Payoneer — 9 Days Without Solution

Thank you so much for your thoughts and advice, I really appreciate you taking the time to look into this for me!

I’m currently contacting Etsy support mostly through live chat. Every time, they reassure me that there is already a ticket open for my case, and that I just need to keep waiting.
I also received one email reply where they suggested clearing my browser cache and switching to a different browser — but honestly, I had already done all of that even before reaching out to them.
I responded to let them know that those steps didn’t help and that I still needed assistance... but after that, I haven’t received any further replies.

In my opinion, it feels like the integration between Etsy and Payoneer on my account wasn’t completed properly.
On the very first day I contacted support, the chat agent told me, "I think I know what the problem is. Please stay online, I will transfer your case to another department and someone will join this chat soon."
I waited in the chat for over four hours without leaving... but no one ever joined or followed up.

This whole situation is heartbreaking and exhausting.
Thank you again for your support — it means more than you know!

No, I’m not using a POD. I fully handmake all of my products myself.
Some of my items are stored at a warehouse in the US — that's why it says "shipping from the USA" on certain listings.
Unfortunately, shipping directly from Georgia (the country where I live) can be very slow and expensive for customers, so I work with a trusted shipping partner in the US to make delivery faster and easier.

Most of my items are still made to order and shipped directly from Georgia when they are ready.
So, it’s definitely not a POD issue — it’s a small handmade business that I run with my own two hands.

If you are located in Georgia the country, that needs to be your SHOP LOCATION, where it currently says something, New York.. That might be why you are having problems. Usually if Etsy detects something not right, they disallow sales until it is fixed.

Re: Ongoing Issues After Switching to Etsy Payments with Payoneer — 9 Days Without Solution

Thank you so much for your attention to the details and for trying to help!

I just double-checked my shop settings — my shop location is correctly set to Batumi, Georgia (the country).
I'm not sure why New York might appear anywhere — maybe there’s some confusion because some of my items are stored at a warehouse in Minnesota, USA.
Most of my products are handmade by me here in Georgia and shipped directly from here.
However, to make delivery faster and more affordable for customers in the U.S., a few items are kept at the Minnesota warehouse and shipped from there.
